@haydesigner I mean kids suck and all, so why would you want to look at them instead of just listening to them? People got along fine with just audio monitors before video came along (and without monitors, period). Maybe you’re just overprotective.
@haydesigner having an audio-only monitor means you can use whatever camera you want to monitor the child. The audio monitor alerts you of a problem and then you can look via an app (which isn’t reliable enough as a sole monitoring method IMO)
I’m so torn. I have the lantern you sent me, and it still works okay, but there’s a second child due in January, and maybe just an audio monitor would be nice. I dunno man, I dunno.
I bought one of these last time. It works great! I ONLY wanted an audio monitor & that’s all I registered for but someone gifted us a video monitor & my husband was so happy because he could SEE the baby. I was also afraid of the wifi hacking & I guess this video one runs through radio waves or something.?
I use this one at our summer place & it has been perfect. We still use the video monitor at home but my husband gets it on his side of the bed. That thing is BRIGHT all night long. It’s insane. He wanted it, he gets it. I would be totally fine just having a second one of these. People told us we needed the video monitor so we could see when the baby is starting to pull themselves up, climb out, etc. When my son started to sit up on his own a few weeks ago I just lowered the crib mattress to it’s lowest setting. It’s just common sense, I don’t need to see my kid starting to climb out to know to do that.
My contribution to the fray is wtf is going on with this one product shot? Is the baby climbing out of the crib?? but the crib is floor height … maybe it’s scaling a baby gate but with that vertical angled wall it’s like this baby is in an attic and about to climb that gate and fall right down a flight of steps. oh but there’s the monitor, all in focus and lit! nice product shot Philips Avent marketing people. this tells me what’s wrong with this whole world: go ahead buy a baby monitor but you’re gonna blow it because you’re downstairs watching netflix and your baby is about to hurl itself down a flight of stairs.
I admit it, I bought one of these. According to the tracker it has been in Elizabeth, NJ for three days. Why? No one I know would spend three days in Elizabeth, NJ. Meh, may I please have my baby monitor?
I have now actually received my baby monitor after the apparently long journey from Elizabeth, NJ. It really is quite delightful and, baby reports, effective and unobtrusive.

I’m not that far removed from having my own kiddo and using monitors. I have to say, I would ONLY use a video monitor.

@lwheatcraft, people got along fine with horse and buggy. Why would you want to ride in a car?

“Outdoor range: up to 330m”
For all those times when you want to go for a short hike, but the trail is just too rough for a stroller.

Amazon will have Alexa listen to the kid for us. Amazon already heard when we made it.
@hchavers noicely done!
Eh for the price I’d rather have the flexibility of the Wyze cam
Oof thanks for the reminder I’m childless
get DECT out
I’m sorry
This is a great monitor. Glad I’m done with it. Now when my kids need my attention they just scream my name in the middle of the night.
On the plus side I can check what’s new here.

@LadyLeela “it’s just common sense” is not a phrase heard on Meh very often. We need a special kind of help…

@coolpillows deep breath and think Photoshop… All’s better now.
SIX pictures and not one of a slumbering baby IRK. Come on.

Don’t make me go all “un-monitored baby” on you.
@KREE you have a baby that needs monitoring and you ordered one from meh? Maybe a call to CPS is in order…
@ybmuG your point is a fair one.
