@Thumperchick click on the amazon link and read the reviews and the comments to the reviews as the first review comment mentions a work around (purchase 2 cable things/adapters) for one of the two complaints.
@Thumperchick No HDMI seems like a negative. And the fact that a few Amazon reviewers seem to have experience over time with this setup and some say it had to go back a few times(Hence the refurb status) And there is nothing worse than refurbing a refurb lol
@Thumperchick It seemed to me that if one didn't mind the limitations then it would be a decent deal (presuming it didn't break too early in the game).
@Thumperchick Definitely not a bad deal I would say if you are in the market for a set like this. I also read that people use an adapter from Monoprice if they need the HDMI so that will only add a few extra bucks. Rock out!
@StaySharp Changed to reflect shipping weight so people aren't confused by the manufacturer's numbers. Shipping weight and total components are around 25 lbs.
It is sad that it is not free voltage. the size must be also pretty big. I almost joined VMP. lol@sherryblue 도란스 신공 발휘하시죠 ㅋㅋㅋ그리고 VMP는 하나 두세요 ㅋㅋㅋ VMP없어서 아쉬운 물건들 종종 올라오시는거 아시잖아요 ㅋㅋ
dagnabit. i have a philips refurb set that looks very similar but in grey and only dvd, not bluray. bought it close to 10 years ago now and it still works great, despite moving several times
At first I said meh. Then I thought I need a 2nd blu-Ray DVD player and as long as that is HDMI and 1080P then for $50 I'll do it. And use the home theatre for a separate set of speakers or gift. So in for 1. Fingers crossed the DVD player works.
I had this one for a year, I paid a lot more for it. When it stopped working I opened it up. Fuse was replaced but when plugged in you could see flash at fuse and elsewhere on board. I just replaced with a different brand last month.
@halnwheels, yah, with that sub-woofer's sweet frequency response of 60-80,000 (ironically not very low on the low end), you don't even need the high frequency speakers. (OK, you need them for the other channels but you get the point.)
Come to think of it, with that ultrasonic range you can also brush your teeth and check the status of your unborn baby with it! Yep, a bargain multifunctional device.
My blu-ray player does not turn on. But I live in South Korea. You told me "A&D Electronics will fix it for you." But A&D Electronics only has phone support. I can't speak and listen. I can only write and read. What should I do now?

2 Baby Arms!!!!!!!
@somf69 Giant Baby Arms!!!!
"Cheaper than a replacing your lost remote" So true!
Meh, not even thinking twice on this one, pass!
I'm not a fan of the plug and play speaker wire. But for 50 bucks I should just stfu and keep my comments to myself.
submeh
At this price, though, maybe consider it for a kid's room or guestroom? You know, if you like disappointing your kids or your guests.
But does the remote come with batteries?
@dragonrobot I did not see any in the box. no.
@kylewood If only there was a deal for say, 40 batteries for $5.
I see a lot of "meh" but I don't see specific reasons why. Anyone wanna help me out?

@Kidsandliz @Stallion @halnwheels - thanks for the feedback. My sister went in for 2. For $50/each set, it's a worthwhile gamble

@Thumperchick the one on Amazon does not come with baby arms

All those things for 8lb? Are you sure? if so, i'd like to buy this one.
@StaySharp Yeah, that's a weird number
@StaySharp Shipping weight and total package weight is higher. I'll clear it up.

Seems like a really great deal, the speakers on my LG tv are terrible.
@bretmkal I bought Phillips audio equipment for my shoddy LG tv speakers. That's a double disappointment.
not freevolt? only 110v?

@sherryblue vmp가 뭔가요? ^^
@mackys Very Mediocre Person... 혹시 자신이 vmp 가 아닌지 생각해 보세용...ㅎㅎ
@mackys 한달 5불. 배송 무제한 무료. 그담달 또 5불. ㅋㅋㅋ
dagnabit. i have a philips refurb set that looks very similar but in grey and only dvd, not bluray. bought it close to 10 years ago now and it still works great, despite moving several times
No HDMI in? So the only way to hear the speakers is to play a DVD/Blu-Ray disk or stream a movie? Pass.
@hchavers No, there's component audio in from your tv, bu I think you're right - HDMI out from your cable box is not going into this. Very weak.
@hchavers Or maybe add an Optical Toslink to Coaxial (RCA) Digital Audio Converter
Anyone notice the awesome upper end of the sub-woofer frequency range? 80,000 Hz. Like wow, man! Toke it up!

@mustang006 What will your big guests use?
@bartg Ha
Sold out AGAIN??? Changing the name of this page to "WAH!"
@shubydoo Check the site earlier.
5.1? 1,000 watts? And a Blu Ray player? Sounds great for $50.
I don't see anything about Bluetooth so ... meh.

@dinoegg Write to halp@meh.com and explain your issue. They should be able to come up with a solution for you.
