other shopping sites that talk to you like a person
6So, I've always loved Woot! (and now meh.) because of the indifference that was aimed at me. Maybe in a past life I was a teenage girl that always wanted to fix the 'bad boy'.
Moosejaw (www.moosejaw.com) has a similar tone. Any other sites out there that don't try to blow smoke up your wallet?

Schiit audio is a breath of fresh air (so to speak) in the insanely over-hyped world of high-end audio. They even make cables called PYST (http://schiit.com/products/pyst-cables). The descriptions for the cables are pretty funny.
@SSteve It's one thing to just make a bunch of silly sounding names, it's another to do that while making products that sound as good as theirs at the price point that they do (and do it with domestic manufacture). I've owned three pieces of Schiit, and never hesitate to recommend them.
Ha, RCA, XLR AND USB CABLES FOR YOUR SCHIIT
Many years ago, I bought things from http://www.stupid.com/ just so I could get e-mails with titles like: "Here's a Copy of Your Stupid Order" and "Your Stupid Stuff Just Shipped"
They have dog crap on sale!
@smilingjack
Meh is slipping. Only goatshit for sale here.
Moosejaw is based in my town (Ann Arbor) and they're awesome. Give them a call sometime and see how they answer the phone.
@billchase2 They're not based in Saskatchewan? That seems like a wasted opportunity.
@jqubed i love Saskatchewan
Based in Madison Heights, actually. I'm in Birmingham :)
I'm here primarily so no one speaks to me.
Stupid and Schiit need to combine forces and become Stupid Schiit. I'd definitely buy some of that. I've been throwing my money away at http://www.despair.com/ for about a dozen years now.
@melwin I love despair.com too. Been ordering from them for years. More recently I added knockknockstuff.com to my list of favorite sites to throw money away.
Tshirthell.com is a good one... When you get your order, the top of the receipt says "Here's your fucking T-shirt."
It's refreshing...
I had to get a password reset from Louis C.K.'s site, and the tone of the resulting email was wonderfully insulting. Not only that, the randomly generated password started with 'numbnuts', so I can only assume all passwords generated from his recovery system do their part to make you feel like a dunce.
