@Mac454 Well I have a large bag, That has the wheels tucked flush with the bag.
I have Nothing to prove as I am a Geeky Nerdy guy & could care less what others think.
BTW are fairly large which allows crossings curbs or other stuff that Tiny wheels have issues with & prone to have failures! Yes it did cost way more that what is offered. It is Very well made!
With spinner cases you lose almost 2" of interior space because the wheel count in the allowable size measurements. With 2 wheel cases the wheels are mostly embedded in the case so not so much of a loss but it’s now quite difficult to buy a 2 wheel case.
@Kyeh
Thanks. I’m generally too lazy to read the referred links! Too much other crap to do…
My wife’s bag is nearing end of life. Tempted by this. We just bought the “go wild pass” from frontier which allows me to fly anywhere in their system for a penny a flight (+taxes and fees) if I book it the day before the flight (or 10 days before for international flights to the Caribbean and Central America). They were offering it for $299 a person and it’s good until April of 2027. Thought we’d give it a shot and see how it works. For example this weekend I could fly from Atlanta to Puerto Rico for $34 a person. Return next Saturday is same price. Interestingly, they consider Puerto Rico to be an international flight evidently.
@Kyeh
thanks for the link. There are some interesting things in the vid.
expansion looks like you can access it from outside the case. Not sure how that works (hidden pocket inside suitcase?) does it just expand the top half or all the way down the bag?
shows a mesh bag on the outside of the case.
a) is that included with the meh version?
b) is it (easily) removable so it doesn’t get snagged on the carousel etc?

@shrike1201 Dern…I was looking for a monocarbonate version, as I’m a one carbonate kinda man. Wild as those swinging carbonate parties are rumored to be.
I actually need two of these for a trip I’m taking next year but I don’t need them sitting around for 7 months taking up valuable space. They can do that after the trip.
@rob55431
Unless these are particularly un-sturdy I have my doubts. I have yet to lose a wheel on our spinners or roller bags in the multiple years of travels they have made. This includes domestic flights on several carriers as well as international flights. But then again YMMV.
Couldn’t quite pull the trigger on this yesterday. Maybe it’ll show up as a meh-rathon item and I can think about it some more. Have a metric s*** ton of suitcases, but my wife prefers the hard sided ones and hers is starting to have bearing issues in the wheels due to high mileage!
(Though that would be kind of a shame since hers is covered in travel stickers from the past several years.)

@yakkoTDI Only on Vulture Air.
@mehcuda67 I hear all the passengers are crowing about their service.

Is this the same thing? The wheels fall off and they crack easily based on reviews.
Its half the amazon price so there is that bonus.
@ardycake
Looks like it.
Who hard is it to open the case and take a picture of the inside?
@hchavers How knows?
@hchavers @yakkoTDI
Well I KNOW at least two of us saw today’s ask Irk video, eh hmm @yakkoTDI. Forum faux pas…
Lol…

Why do I want something with tiny wheels.
@mycya4me

Because you DON’T have anything to prove…
@mycya4me because it adds four wheels to this earth adding to my belief that there are more wheels than doors on the planet.

@ergomeh 100% but not that hard to find… SideDeal: Rollink Flex Vega Collapsible Carry-On Suitcase https://share.google/71d5wNdAuXjt3XoZp
@billgior I bought one of these (lightly used on ebay, so not $300+) https://www.pelican.com/us/en/product/cases/air/1615/?sku=016150-0001-240 but only because I needed to check a UST projector. But it is a really nice case and they make a carryon size.
Expandable? (Kind of looks that way in one of the pictures)
@chienfou Yes, the write-up on Meijer says it is.

@chienfou Wow, that sounds like an incredible deal and perfect for the kind of travelers you are, really experienced and flexible about what happens. Exciting!
There’s a video on the Target page offering this - it shows the guy opening the expandable part: https://www.target.com/p/olympia-usa-aerolite-expandable-hardside-carry-on-spinner-suitcase-gray/-/A-89547641

@chienfou Yeah, I don’t know why they don’t show the inside of suitcases and purses and other kinds of bags here on Meh.🫤

@Fuzzalini
They’ll be back. If not something very similar.
This is just a “IRK on wheels” with no possible “happy ending”. Just 4 broken wheels after your first trip…
@rob55431

I noticed the sidedeal is 3 rolling suitcases, soooo …
/showme goldilox and the three bears with rolling luggage
@mediocrebot Looks like the AI can’t decide if baby bear is “walking luggage” or Mama bear needs a cane these daze.

@chienfou Great stickers! Although I bet she’d have a similar collection in no time with the amount of traveling you do.
@Kyeh
Yeah it’s always fun to scan the sides of her suitcase & reminisce about travels we’ve done
@chienfou If you retire that one you might have to cut the side off and display it somewhere!
@Kyeh
I’ll probably repurpose it into a side table or use it for storage.
@chienfou Nice!
