@Tin_Foil I’m on 2560x1440 now, still 16:9, but all that extra space is wonderful. Used to be a fan of 1920x1200. Shame when most of the industry settled on 16:9 instead of 16:10.
@kittykat9180 technically, by resolving to not have a resolution, you have a resolution. If you really want to mess the status quo up, you should go against yourself and make a resolution.
Going well. I have my bike ready for a ride next weekend (bought some accessories from Woot to improve the trip) . I’m reading at least one chapter a day on some library books, and I’m reading a minimum of one comic book a day (15 minutes average). It’s easier to keep resolutions when they are short or, in the case of the library books, there are deadlines. I’ll probably restructure my Netflix subscription so I can get discs from the library instead of the mail (running out of new releases to watch) to continue my plans of cutting back on my spending.
I’ve been waking up earlier than my alarm clock (reading in the morning before work) and I still have a protein shake in the morning. I got this battery operated shaker cup from Wish a year ago and I love using it to mix drinks. If I get sick of the vanilla shakes, I also have some powdered apple cider to spice things up.
It’s going to be interesting to see if I can keep this up in the next 2 months. But right now, I feel pretty good.
This year I want to get the workshop paying and the farm providing. They’re not resolutions so much as goals for 2020, 'cause that’s how the timing worked out.
That said, I got my first commission on Friday, so it’s off to a good start.
I did my elliptical yesterday for 20 minutes but today I got up, got ready to do it again but instead got back in bed and for way too long. Sitting at my desk at work un-showered so tired and so wanting to be in bed. Waaah.
I’m looking directly at the meh birthday craft project I’ve had half-finished since before meh’s birthday, instead of delicately gazing past it. Finishing it is possibly the next step!
For those of you with a exercise component to your resolution: From my experience, the number one reason resolutions fail is that people fail to account for the additional time required (or aren’t willing to “spend it”). The reality is, we are all busy all the time. Even if you are sitting on the couch playing on your phone, you are doing SOMETHING. Sleeping is doing something.
If you want to add 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours of exercise to your life each week, you have to remove 2, 4, or 8 hours of activities.
So don’t focus so much on the exercise. Focus on putting in the time. Even if you just hang at the gym for an hour stretching and walking slow on a treadmill. Make a commitment to go to the gym X times a week for Y minutes each time and DO IT. As the weeks roll by, you will begin to see where the time has to come from. It might be TV, video games, or even nap time. Once you get that balance figured out, going to the gym is now a part of your life and you can start doing great things there.

Yeah, they’re higher end laptops, but if other manufacturers catch on, that market will trickle down to the mass consumer level in due time.
