offering pair of Vintage JBL L300 Monitor Speakers
0Vintage JBL L300 Monitor Speakers at $2800
Weight: 150 lbs.
They are the home version of the classic 4333 studio monitor used in many recording studios in the eighties. Considered to be the pinnacle of classic JBL designs, the L300 is legendary in the audiophile community, with it’s large volume cabinet and 136A 15" woofer, LE85 horn midrange, and 077 ring tweeter. These are outstanding sounding speakers producing sweet highs, smooth realistic midrange, and very strong and accurate bass with very little wattage required.

Too bad you can’t also charge an iPhone with it.
Free shipping with VMP, right? How do these compare with say, the X-mini max speakers I’m currently using?
Can I hang these on my keyring? I need something super portable.
@DavidHi If only you were offering Eventide H8000FW 8-channel ultra-harmonizer effects processor at $2500 I might be interested, but not a JBL L300.
Hell, even a DLP Dolby Lake Processor LP4D12 4in 12Out
They’re punchy but IMHO the overall dynamics are way too narrow.
I’ve owned a pair and they were great on some of the classic receivers, Marantz, Yamaha, Pioneer, etc.
But honestly, they cannot handle full range anywhere close to my standards before they peak out at max volume.
To me they only perform satisfactorily within a very limited bandwidth. They sound best with some classic rock and certain jazz music, but at limited volume.
IMO, They would be good studio equipment for certain recording environments but just above average for audiophile home reproduction.
$2800 isn’t terrible, but I’d say one’s money could be much better spent.
I doubt you’ll get many bites from listing here - maybe eBay wold be better.
@Pavlov You’re right. Best for studio work.
I’m still looking for a pair of AR3a’s. Used to have those in the 70’s…
does anyone have old set of infinity speakers from 1984 they’d like to sell me, because i used to have a pair and i just signed into this site yesterday? amiright @davidhi?
Are these comparable to https://www.homeaudiosound.com/product/jbl-dd67000-everest-rosso-corsa/
@nickjbl Should I call you nick or david?
I’ll trade you a chicken bone.
I’ll trade you two turkey bones! One for each speaker!
Time is ticking on this once in a lifetime deal; the trash goes out Monday morning.
Damn, I’m out. If @djslack backs out you can have your choice outside of the wish bone. If you want a wing bone you can have 3 to make one whole wing.
@DavidHi where are you??!! Are you going to miss out on this boondoggle of a lifetime?
