OTOH, I’ve found a bunch of stuff recently over on MorningSave; maybe they have less leftover junk in the warehouse, thus no need/use in doing 'thons to get rid of small batches of extra crap?
I’ve noticed the last few weeks that the “1 item” available for sale has SOLD OUT by early afternoon (if not sooner) several times. Today it sold out by 2:04 PM!! Must be the purchasers are getting less items for sale hence a quick sell-out and NOTHING left over to put into IRK boxes. Guess we’ll probably never see another Mehrathon. Bummer.
Well I bought enough “stuff” over the last year if we aren’t having mehathons/irks I don’t need an account. So unless “eventually” is more defined…it’s been a fun time.
@connorbush Thanks smartmouth. You know that really wasn’t my intention. I heard about Mehrathons and IRKS on another site I was on and people talking about them and thought it sounded like fun. I joined and really looked forward to them. Something different. I was just expressing my thoughts…you know like so many other people on here do…that I have been very disappointed that there haven’t been any. It was why I found Meh, it was why I joined Meh and I really miss having them. I didn’t throw myself on the floor and I didn’t curse everyone out (like a lot of others). If you don’t express to a business the problem you are having with them how can they correct it?
It IRKs me that I haven’t been given the chance to stay up all night and constantly hit the refresh button on my browser in the hopes to get an IRK.

@lichme@Pony
Oh wow, I figured you guys were charged the $5. and just didn’t have to put up with frustration of being quick enough or not quick enough!
I personally find the Community good company and a lot of laughs - definitely worth the membership price for entertainment purposes alone. The bitching and complaining??.. not necessary folks.
I think I am recalling correctly but when meh first began there were no mehrathons for quite a long time. After the first, the cadence was fairly long. Not once a year, but not once every 6-weeks either.
I expect there will be another one sometime in the near future. I think for me, I really miss the two-fer Tuesdays and speaker dock Fridays.
Also, having the ability to purchase name brands like Shark, quip, Sonicare, Foodsaver, JBL, and others. Quality products at cheap prices. Of late, I haven’t seen much quality which I believe is due to supply chain issues.
I don’t think TPTB are purchasing crap products to try and pull one over on us consumers. I know they hold this audience in higher esteem.
As my mom always says, Patience Please. All good things come to those who wait.
I find it rather convenient & very IRKing that the membership rate went up & current members were grandfathered in to save a buck a month as long as we keep our account with no interruptions at pretty much the same time that the Mehrathons & IRKs dried up. Product quality & variety seem to have stumbled a lot as well. As to whether the folks in charge hold this audience in any kind of highish esteem, it would be nice if they would make some sort of statement regarding all these things. Woot stopped having BOCs as a prize on their digital app games for quite a while but they announced in their forums that it was going to happen as well as why before it happened. While I’m mentioning that I should say that they reinstated BOCs in the digital games today. Make an announcement already Glen. Act like you care if I keep wasting $5/month for another 6 months of not buying anything.
@wskaufman2
Yes the membership price going up when the mehathons stopped was very convenient. I still have mine but I’m not sure for how long. Especially since I gave up buying stuff for lent with the exception of irks. Not that there’s even been anything I really want to buy lately.
Well they have opened a brick and mortar morningsave in Dallas along “dumpster fire lane” to get rid of junk.It appeared that morningsave leftovers were making up a lot of what was in the mehrathon and irks and now stuff is going there first. As a result we will probably have to wait until it’s unsold there too before there is enough left over for a mehrathon/irk.
@Kidsandliz@snapster Meanwhile Amazon is now closing its brick and mortar stores. We had one in town and I didn’t even know about it until I read today that it’s closing!
I’ve been thinking about canceling my membership tbh. The products offered are terrible (and not in a fun way) and without IRKs there’s really no point in keeping it. I’ll go another month or so but, meh (hehe), I’m probably out after that.
@sourgirl88 Well you can always buy your membership back. On another thread snapster is talking about refocusing what is going on with meh and how to make it better, taking it back to its roots or doing something anyway. He has a team whose job is just to do that. Sooooo… with baited breath we wait to see what is up their collective sleeves that we, hopefully, will like.
It has been stated (once) that there will be another Mehrathon “eventually”. I have seen nothing
officially said about IRKs going forward.
So the end of Mercatalyst. @Dave?

@IndifferentDude I mean, it says right at the bottom that we sold 1342 of them. That’s not a tiny amount of warehouse space.
@ExtraMedium WHAT HAPPENED??
Someone must’ve found another pallet of them since they’re back up for sale!!
Annnnnd … now they’re “sold out” AGAIN!! Twice in 1 day?? Must be a new record!!
I’m assuming the supply chain issues. Have reduced the amount of overstock / bargain basement prices that IRK items get.
@joebuddah That’s a pretty serious supply chain issue when you can’t even get stuff that nobody wants.

@sunnysideup22 I was funning ya
Makes me sad. I loved Mehrathons, and IRKs were always fun to get.
I’ve been having irk withdrawals. So bad that I had to try for a box from that other site.
@Vrysen
Yeah box from that other site wasn’t nearly as fun but I did get a brand new spa massager.
It IRKs me that I haven’t been given the chance to stay up all night and constantly hit the refresh button on my browser in the hopes to get an IRK.

They were losing too much money giving away free ones to the people who got tattoos when they sell them
@lichme I guess I now need to tell you what GFH really means.
@lichme I seriously doubt that. But, that said, I would be totally fine with paying for my IRKs if I were guaranteed to get one for having my Irk tat.
@lichme I’m glad I kept missing all the opportunities to sign up now.
Didn’t realize they would cut off the IRKs so soon.
@lichme @Pony

@Kidsandliz darn junk.It sounded like such a fun site but I doubt I’ll be going back
@snapster Hmm missed no space between junk and it. Too bad you don’t have that domain name. You could run the mehrathons on that.
@Kidsandliz @snapster Meanwhile Amazon is now closing its brick and mortar stores. We had one in town and I didn’t even know about it until I read today that it’s closing!

@Kidsandliz @sourgirl88 Another Day Zero sounds fun!
@Kidsandliz @sourgirl88 Yeah, I got rid of VMP, didn’t feel special anymore, so i’ll just get membership if I ever need it.
I’d even be happy if they came back at a higher price do to inflation
@lonocat I’d be willing to pay twice what I am paying now.
@Barney @lonocat maybe even ten times
