Ninja Foodi Blender
5Can it make margaritas?
About five years or so ago I got a cuisinart single serve, compact portable blender in an irk and it changed my smoothie game forever. This blending jar was massive, clocking in at 32 ounces, I was able to make the biggest smoothies and hummers ever. It even died about a year after I got it and I contacted cuisinart and told them I received it as a gift and they sent me an even better model in return for my broken one. Maybe it’s bc everything my smoothie maker and I had been through, the great story behind it and the fact it was free (well $10) that made it all that more special to me. So last week it broke and lost it. I tried fixed it, you know blowing on it, whacking it and duck tape but it still was dead.
Then I remembered I had ninja Foodi blender, brand new in the box in the basement. Determined not to like this thing out of the box bc it wasn’t my cuisinart blender I started Unpackaging it and getting it going. Right off the bat I did notice it had a suction cup on the bottom of the base so when you’re blending stuff it doesn’t move. Now you might think “how much can a personal blender move?” Well I’ve had a fall over and spill everywhere while blending, so that was a huge plus. Another thing I noticed that I did not like is that is an upside down blender, like magic bullet style. I hate those kind bc you can only fill them up so far (I always end up overfilling) and if you don’t tighten it enough it leaks out all over the base. So now my smoothie is half the size again. I haven’t tested out majority of the functions for it, I’m just making smoothies with but dam; I’ve never had a smoothie so smooth. My smoothie is how I get a lot of my protein and other stuff I don’t eat (bc I’m such a picky eater). So in it I put flaxseed, wheat germ, hemp seed, bee pollen, collagen, protein, banana, frozen blueberry’s and ice. The ninja foodi blender makes all that one liquid treat. It’s almost a little to liquid for my liking. But it cuts and chops those seeds and blueberry’s so well, it’s impressive.
I am very impressed with this blender and how well it functions. I still don’t like the upside down blending but it seems to have a pretty good seal on it.
So can it make margaritas? Fuck yea, and everything else!
**What do you guys use your ninja foodi blender for? I know there’s a lot more it can do and wonder if people actually do it.

Nice! Did you get the Ninja from Meh?
@Kyeh
Of course I got it at meh
I got mine from meh. And well it’s more than just a blender I have the upside down thing that you have, the regular old school hand blender, and it also has a food processor attachment, here and there I’ve used all of them. Oddly enough when I lift here before I used it more than I do now. Because I need to clean the counter where I can put it off, but I made all sorts of stuff in it, but I don’t know that I ever use the food processor attachment but once, the same thing was true with the food processor part of my old KitchenAid. I think I used it once. It would have been kind of cool though if they had a small attachment to it that worked kind of like a mixer kind of, I remember having a multi-use item like that back in the '80s maybe that didn’t work super well but all the motors and stuff are much better today than they were then. But you can make pancake batter in it you can make muffin batter in it. You can scramble eggs in it although I don’t know why you would, I did make smoothie type things in it for a while when I was doing Keto. That was probably the thing I used it the most. But I’m not a smoothie lover I got tired of that real fast I’d rather eat a protein bar that drink smoothie
@Cerridwyn
I’ll have to read the manual, I didn’t know there was a food processor attachment. Granted I have but food processor and have only used it once and broke the locking mechanism bc it fell off my counter. I need to contact cuisinart on that thing too lol
I wish meh would offer a single-serve type blender! Perfect for protein shakes. We had a Ninja for a long time, but recently went kaput. Now the backup device we got (on Black Friday) does not suffice.
@JWhirly Wouldn’t those single serving ones die faster?
@pakopako indeed they seem to. They are built with less wattage and sturdiness. And the single-serving/personal ones get used way more often, at least in our house. Our “protein blender” gets used up to four times daily almost every single day. Whereas our larger blenders/food processors get used a fraction of that, maybe twice a week. So the small ones are underpowered and overused.
@JWhirly Meh had some about a year ago, but they weren’t exactly hot sellers as I recall. Their repeated appearances were not met with celebratory declarations. I’m pretty sure they weren’t Ninjas.
@JWhirly Maybe it’s time for a stick blender?

https://www.kohls.com/product/prd-4530721/braun-multiquick-immersion-hand-blender.jsp?skuid=62506553
The slight downside is you might need a weighted basin (or tall cylindrical beaker) to contain stuff.
They have the advantage (when making smoothies) that you are the plunger (nothing sinks to the bottom and clogs the gears since the blades now come from above)
@JWhirly @pakopako we have one from KitchenAid that works well. The immersion half comes off, and it’s dishwasher-safe
@pakopako @werehatrack Hadn’t thought of the stick/immersion style for the protein shakes. With the right mixing vessel, clean-up would be a snap. And like you mentioned, shouldn’t have the powder problem with chunks stuck on the bottom. Will give this a try!
I’ve been hoping a while they would do the ninjas again and recently gave up waiting and got one elsewhere. Ninja completely changed the game.
Wait until you try a vitamix
@qazxto it even gets strawberry seeds. Nothing stands a chance!
I love my ninja. Especially the preset settings.
