I’m not unduly frightened by spiders; I find a lot of them in my house because my basement is basically dirt beyond the center part which is concrete, but they’re harmless and they catch flies and mosquitoes so I just trap and release them if they’re in my living space. But anything that poisonous - NOOOO.

This image does a very good job of making that spider look orders of magnitude larger than it actually is. I had to stare at the picture for several seconds before I realized it’s a closeup shot of a small corner.
I just realized the position of the four front legs also adds to the wrongness of this photo. I think some part of my brain is saying: “spiders are supposed to have 8 legs not 6, so this is not a spider but an alien monster.”
