I'm a bit distracted, so I won't say much in this lead post besides for posting this link. Considering that Series 10 won't be until Spring 2017 though...
@earlyre@Froodyfrog I had no idea it was going to be that far in the future either, for some reason I thought it was late this year which was too far as it was. I don't understand why they have such gaps between seasons. I guess they just feel we're so loyal we'll continue to show up no matter what. I'm going to go read what you linked to right now. Question, did y'all like this last Doctor?
I had issues with Capaldi's first series, I didn't watch the Holiday special because I was going to stop, I enjoyed series 10 (and watched the Holiday special). I'll probably watch through series 11, and then when they replace Capaldi (and Moffat steps down), I'll probably stop.
@f00l HA! You're hilarious. I'm going to steal that for some of my Walking Dead fans. We've hit a bit of a bump in our love of all things TWD but they are just kidding themselves when they say they won't be back in October!
@mehbee no it's Steven Moffat (current showrunner) that wants to leave... he will finish out the season we see in 2017 and then the next season will have a new showrunner.
@f00l I don't think so personally, I am a big fan of his in general, his range of shows is impressive to me, not just the Dr Who ones.
I will say that the Capaldi Whos seem scattered to people used to the modern Whos, but anyone who has seen the classic Whos gets what he is doing with them...
@thismyusername I find Moffat intensely creative and entertaining. And i get pissed off about the stuff he doesn't get. He's a bit of a crank, and he swings and misses on some stuff. At least he tries. His shows are v well written and made, and are worth watching even if you hate them.
@thismyusername I started it once, but couldn't get into it... but remember when NBC "tried" to make a US version of it, and didn't re-write the scripts at all, save for place names to make it be in America... they just shot the original UK scripts, with American actors, speaking British English, and using British Slang, with American accents. in America. Cancellation ensued!
@earlyre yea I saw that trainwreck... Moynihan was not the correct Jeff... but you know that is what you get when nbc "market surveys" a show to death.
@thismyusername I did read that Moffat was leaving and that made me sad. I also read that Capaldi's was talking about leaving, not long after they announced Clara leaving (her name escapes me). I guess they talked him into staying. I have very mixed feelings about his Doctor. He is more like the original but I started watching with 9 and all three had a different energy. I was happy when I heard he was the new Doctor but not as thrilled as I wanted to be. I'm not blaming it all on him. The episodes of his first season weren't all great. I also think they ruined Clara's character but that might just be me. I also can't understand him half the time. I'm usually the one translating for my friends but couldn't do that for this one. I really liked Danny's character. He was pretty cool.
SPRING 2017?!?!?!?
WTH BBC!!!!
Stupid Summer Olympics and stuff......
@earlyre
You didn't know?
@FroodyFrog nope...way out of the loop apparently....

@FroodyFrog
(Yoda speaks:)
There is only watch, and pretend-you're-not-gonna-watch.
There is no "stop".
@f00l
In that case, watch me not watch.
@earlyre we will get a xmas special this year if that helps any...

@thismyusername That helps me and it's probably what I was thinking of when I thought it started back late this year.
Couldn't decide where else to put this
Who?
@hallmike
The one who will play Bill (seriously?!?)
@FroodyFrog Who?
@jaremelz
Meow.
I mean... Who???
She sounds cool. I thought Capaldi wanted to leave and wasn't doing another season.

Have mixed feelings about Moffat. Am a few seasons behind. Is Moffat getting stale?

Bothers me more w Sherlock than The Doctor.
@f00l ever see Coupling? (used to be on netflix but it appears that Hulu has out-bid them, also looks like its hulu plus only)
@thismyusername One of the best shows ever.
@thismyusername I started it once, but couldn't get into it...

Here is the american version ep 1.
@thismyusername
Re Coupling: Yeah i think i saw the first 2-3 years? V funny, a little stereotyped. Liked it a lot.
@thismyusername I'll have to look for it as I have Hulu Plus.
