Newbie question: meh button
17Other than OCD obsessions with the button, are there any creative uses for it? Like only clicking on stuff you want to remember or only when you don’t buy?
I was surprised after my first purchase that the button didn’t get clicked. Kind of thought the button was “no thanks” vs. the buy button.
Now I’m just fighting the OCD obsession that I can feel growing, but weekends are usually the cure for that (my longest streak is 5 days).

I think we are resolved to making it more obvious as an alternate to buying. But, we want to retain the fun in streak building. We’ll need to officially convert all purchase days to implicit meh-button presses for streak purposes, but maybe display them with the product thumbnails.
anyways, you are right on both future intent and current state of ambiguity.
@snapster do that though and the folks who are proud of their 0 clicks will be unhappy. Was the original purpose of the button to indicate whether or not you liked the product of they even if you didn’t buy? (if it was that sure didn’t last long - trust customers to twist it to their own purposes LOL)
I don’t click when I buy. That way if I miss a day, I won’t be obsessed.
The what button?

let us consult the mehcronomicon.
"just sit right back, and you’ll hear a tale.
a tale of a button press.
that started on this little site,
and made people obsess.
that first click was a little weird,
the second brave and smart.
they starting mashing on their mouse,
to see that button art.
the clicks they started piling up.
the people had their streaks.
then one day one forgot to meh,
and they began to freak, they began to freak.
the streak was gone, and gone for good.
the people they did wail.
they blamed the goat and Irk and meh,
for their fucking fail.
so let this be a lesson to,
the newbs that heed the call.
don’t get caught up in the button click,
so say we all, so say we all."
@carl669 - Good point.
@fordprefect - Heed the warning. It ain’t no three hour tour.
@carl669
@carl669 There aren’t enough stars in the sky to give this post.
@carl669 That’s not just awesome…
It’s fucking awesome!
There’s obviously nothing even remotely obsessive about it. Just be aware, sometimes Irk (the resident spokes-troll) likes to remove your click. You’ll find yourself triple checking it throughout the day.
1518 meh button clicks
1315 days in a row
longest streak: 1315
@cinoclav not OCD about it hmm?
@Kidsandliz Obviously not.
@cinoclav Of course. Obviously.
Btw, congrats. It’s not often the very first thread someone has started gets an immediate response from the head honcho/octopus.
It’s for making low-res pixel art:
This month we’re going for symmetry.
@HeadfoneJack Zen Meh.
If a meh face clickies in the woods, and there’s nobody there to hear it… do you lose your clicky streak?
@HeadfoneJack @ruouttaurmind
@2many2no one word: YES
@2many2no @Kidsandliz You beat me to it! So I’ll agree with a resounding HELL YEAH!
We just like pushing buttons.
