@macromeh that sounds delicious. Mac and cheese always pairs great with BBQ. One of the ones I like the most is giant shells with cheese stuffed with smoked brisket. I’ve never tried using mac and cheese as sandwich bread yet, but now that I know such a thing exists who knows what may happen
I’m weird (in case you hadn’t already noticed .) I find mac & cheese to be extremely meh - I’ll eat it if it’s served to me but I don’t choose it if there’s other stuff available. Same with several other super popular things, like I wouldn’t even notice if they quit selling Oreo cookies. I don’t hate them but I don’t understand why people love them.
@Kyeh I love anything cheese.
I wouldn’t notice if they stopped selling all cookies as I bake my own. I just mailed a batch of chocolate chip cookies to a client in DC today.
@Kyeh I hear you. There’s a lot of things that I don’t like that everybody else loves. There was this place I went to Once in Burbank though that actually had the absolute best macaroni and cheese I have ever consumed. I mean 10 times better than anything homemade I have ever had, or at any other restaurant. I can’t tell you what made it that great it just was and I will remember to my dying day
@capnjb Woohoo! Smells so good - I’m looking forward to tomorrow!!! (I can’t drink coffee late in the day.) I had a brief episode of panic & frustration though - I brought the mail in and set the little box aside to open as a reward after I planted a couple of free yarrow plants someone gave me. Then went looking for the box - and could. not. FIND. IT!!!
It made me feel crazy! I even wondered if I’d actually brought it in, or did I set it on the ledge outside and someone swiped it? But finally I spotted it sitting on the corner of a larger box exactly the same color and overshadowed by something else. So much drama!
Anyhow, thank you so much! Can’t wait to try it!
@Kyeh I honestly don’t know because I don’t even remember the name of the restaurant. It was probably 10 years ago and a friend and I were down there and we wandered into it and the rest is history
It’s late and I didn’t know about it so my meals have been regular tacos at a truck, barley iced tea, and a banana split of cheesecake ice cream smothered cherries. (I’m an adult, ice cream can be a meal. I added a graham cracker; it covers all the major food groups.)
@pakopako +1 for ice cream as a meal, another +1 for graham crackers
I spent over a year?way too long using that as a bonus meal when I should’ve been asleep. In my case I used chocolate graham crackers; they taste quite similar to Oreo cookies, but without the disgusting “cream” filling.
Making burritos but sadly they are not mac and cheese burritos.
/showme mac and cheese burritos
@mediocrebot Delicious!!
@yakkoTDI don’t miss out on the opportunity to add Mac n cheese to it.
@kittykat9180 When I get the loaded mac and cheese from Wicked Oak I always get the large size so I can put the leftovers in burritos.

@yakkoTDI dang! Everything on the menu looks good. Except for the boiled peanuts because who wants soggy peanuts?
There’s a place around here that sometimes will put Mac n cheese inside of a hollowed out pretzel bun, it’s so good.
@Star2236
The best mac & cheese dish: Shredded BBQ pulled pork between 2 slabs of mac & cheese browned on the grill (AKA the Mac Daddy Squealer).

(Sadly, the chef in the video succumbed to cancer and his brewpub closed.)
@macromeh dang, that sounds amazing.
Sorry to hear about the chef though.

@kittykat9180 For noodles with cheese I’d be much happier with pasta Alfredo!
@kittykat9180 @Kyeh I’m going to go start sniffing mailboxes around here.
Oh, and Kyeh… you should go check yours. Something landed a day early

@Cerridwyn Crack-aroni and cheese?! I would try it - I’m open to liking it, just haven’t had any as good as that yet. Is the restaurant gone?
@Kyeh Yay! Hope you enjoy it

@Kyeh I honestly don’t know because I don’t even remember the name of the restaurant. It was probably 10 years ago and a friend and I were down there and we wandered into it and the rest is history
@Cerridwyn Too bad! If you knew you might be able to track down their recipe somewhere.
@Kyeh it might, just might, have been granville. not sure, as i said was 10ish years ago but i don’t remember asparagus because i don’t care for it,
copy cat recipe it claims

@Cerridwyn Thanks! And asparagus and chicken kick it up into a whole other realm; that does sound delicious. Wish I had some now!
Aw. I had mac-n-cheese pizza last week.

@pakopako barley iced tea you say? I’ve not heard of it I’ll need to give it a try.

@Kyeh @pakopako I’ll have to see where else I can find it (I don’t shop on Amazon).
@kittykat9180 @pakopako If you have any Asian imports stores around, they might have it.
I’m in the middle of a project, so the best I could do for M&C Day was this
