I loved it! A great return to classic episodic Star Trek.
If you haven’t been following it, this is Captain Christopher Pike, Kirk’s predecessor. And from the Pike episodes of ST: Discovery, he’s my new favorite Captain.
@f00l Paramount Plus is the rebranding of what was called CBS All Access. It’s a streaming service that you can pay for, with both ad-supported and ad-free rates, but you need access to the Internet as a prerequisite. (The assumption that “everyone has this” is a disturbingly common mistake.) IMDB should have the details about the casting.
Captain Christopher Pike: Anson Mount
Spock: Ethan Peck (grandson of Gregory)
Number One: Rebecca Romijn
Nyota Uhura: Celia Rose Gooding
Dr. M’Benga: Babs Olusanmokun
Christine Chapel: Jess Bush
@blaineg@f00l You won’t be sorry, esp if you like westerns &/or historical dramas. Colm sure did chew the scenery & looked like he had a blast playing a villain. He was in good company, there wasn’t a bad performance in the bunch, including Common & Christopher Heyerdahl, who were particularly memorable.
Ok that might be interesting. Which actors play the key roles?
Also what must we subscribe to in order to watch? Does Paramount have its own streaming service?

10 episodes this season, released on Thursdays, and renewed for a second season already.
It’s in the main continuity, not the Abrams/Kelvin timeline of the Chris Pine movies. Set 5-10 years before Kirk.
@blaineg @f00l Anson Mount was great in AMC’s “Hell on Wheels”…i miss that show!
@blaineg @f00l @ircon96
Don’t forget this amazing cameo!
@f00l @ircon96 Five seasons, and Colm Meaney? I’ll have to check it out.

@rockblossom Excellent collection!
If you have access to the second season of ST: Discovery, Pike has command of the Discovery for the whole season.
Spock and Number One also make appearances.
My bad. I thought this was an Easter thread.
@mike808
@chienfou Nice RDJ impression!
