My soap dish...
3is half a coconut shell!
I have two other coconut shell halves laying around, and I’m not sure what to do with them. I have too much crap and need to start getting rid of stuff in preparation for downsizing, and those are pretty easy to say goodbye to. Anybody here got fun and/or practical uses for two coconut shell halves?
And please don’t say “make a bra/bikini top for your girlfriend!”. She doesn’t exist.
Oh and I should mention that I did already do the Monty Python horse thing with them in high school and so that’s off the table as well.

make a bra/bikini top for yourself.
@thismyusername I was thinking a nice codpiece could really pull some of my outfits together. And would be sure to get me a girlfriend. Right? That’s how that works?
I’m slightly confused…
3 coconut halves is that same as 1 1/2 coconuts.
What happened to the last half?
@PlacidPenguin You know… I’m honestly not sure. I used to have like five of them. I think I might have given a couple to a friend to also do the horse thing with? But we got them from Costco. They sold these packages of ice cream where the ice cream would come in the skin/shell of whatever flavour it was. The lemon and orange ones we just discarded the “cup”, but we kept the coconut ones because they’re pretty nifty. They came pre-halved, which is why I have halves.
@Mehsturbator
I’m familiar with that kind of dessert, but in sorbet form.
@PlacidPenguin They may have been sorbet, I don’t really remember. It was a long time ago that we got them.
I have gotten real coconuts before! But, post-hammer, they weren’t nice and cleanly halved. Why I needed to open it with a hammer, I don’t know.
Edit: I think they were sorbet. Specifically, Island Way Sorbet. http://islandwaysorbet.com/products/
@Mehsturbator
I’ve only ever seen one coconut in real life.
Long time ago though.
@PlacidPenguin Really? Do they not sell them at local grocery stores?
@Mehsturbator
Not at my primary grocery store. (They don’t sell pumpkins either, but I digress.)
@PlacidPenguin Well that’s disappointing. Maybe I’ll send a swallow with a coconut to you so that you can double your coconut experience.
@Mehsturbator African or European?
@Mehsturbator Yes! It could grip it by the husk.
Insure em, then burn em down for that sweet payday.
Put the lime in them?
@Thumperchick
/youtube harry nilson coconut
you could use them to make a massage attachment for your horse.
Make Romper Stompers?
Princess Lea Costume Hair Buns?
A nifty bowl?
can you still eat out of them? are they washable?
@katylava That’s a good question. I imagine dishsoap and an organic dish probably don’t mix too well. But I could probably be alright just using them as like candy dishes, if I build a little stand for them so they don’t fall over. Not a bad idea!
Sell them on Amazon to other people who want to do the Monty Python horse thing
lol look at this guy who doesn’t know what to do with the three shells in his bathroom
@Moose
I thought @Mehsturbator is a ‘she’.
@Moose Actually, it’s the two shells in my bedroom. The one shell in my bathroom is the only one I do have a use for right now.
@Moose
@Mehsturbator
Sandra Bullock finally explains it.

The real question is whether or not you will sign up for the unofficial meh exchange and send a really good box of
junkstuff to someone. You could include one in that… and it could help you downsize. In fact you could sign up just to send and not to receive. LOLHere’s the coconut (albeit whole) that I found on the beach in Tampa 4 years back. Other than the flower, I have done nothing to it except prop it up on the guest bath light fixture over the sink.
As for the Monty Python thing, we actually did that at the castle used in the movie shoot a few years ago when we toured Scotland with another couple. We asked at the ticket booth and lo and behold, they had a pair just for that reason. I shot some video of part of our group storming the castle while others taunted them in terrible French accents from the parapets. Wish I could find it now.
@chienfou I’d love to see that. Sounds terribly awesome.
@RiotDemon maybe I can dig it up next time we have a rainy day and I’m not outside working in the yard or on the poolhouse (oh wait… after I do my taxes of course!)
