Wired: One of my cats chewed through the wire of the left earbud.
Wireless: The left earbud fell in the toilet. Even if it would have been able to be saved I would have trashed them as an ear infection would be horrific.
i accidently sent my apple earbuds through the washing machine at least 5 times before they died. cleaned the wax out and restored the sound well. new pair purposefully washed in the machine once to clean them and they died. go figure. current pair still alive but frayed, have no wish for wireless earbuds, and the reviews on these are clearly bullshit
Had some BT “wireless wired” earbuds from here (iFrog XD2 i think) that I loved. Wires finally frayed and had to get rid of them. I found some on eBay to replace them recently.
I’ve never found earbuds that come remotely close to fitting in my ears. I’m not convinced they are a thing people actually use. I tried some AirPods once and they came out caked in blood.
@brennyn
Me too. I refuse to spend money on them bc I can never get a good fit so I just go with whatever I get in my irks or bocs. I can only have them in for about an hour or two anyways then my ears start hurting really bad or it won’t stay in anymore. So it kinda limits wearing them. And I definitely can’t do the iPod kind, those really, really hurt my ears. They have to have the rubber tips.
I use Shokz Bone Conduction headphones because I have a hearing loss and only one ear “works.” The Shokz make it seem like the music comes from both ears again, which is miraculous to me. Plus I can sweat and no damage to the things. I haven’t washed them, but I probably could.
My first pair of buds came with my original Nintendo Game Boy handheld which came out in 1989 so: My first pair of buds died because I was 8 or 9 years old when I had them…
There was one (cheapo) brand of “wired wireless” that I really liked… but my cats also really liked it. Apparently the cord connecting the two buds together was really delicious. And apparently earbuds don’t work so well after their cord has been chewed through. Go figure.
My dog eats them. We have 2 trash panda dogs that will eat anything they can fit in their mouth. I’m dumb, I lose/leave my earbuds around without securing them and they find them.
You’d think I’d buy cheap ones but the galaxy buds are the only ones I know of that have the “find me” chirp. I buy the bright red ones and put white ear tips/wings on them. The combination of the chirp and the colors usually let me find them. Sometimes even after the dog has chewed on it a bit.
(Also if anyone knows of any other buds that have the find me chirp that is cheaper than the buds, I’m all ears…)
I bought them here

I don’t use ear buds. I don’t like anything in my ears. Every pair that I have gotten in irks have been given away.
@ironcheftoni
This is my answer too.
@ironcheftoni @Kyeh Same here!
They gave me lip

A car crash. Thanks a lot aholes for bringing back those memories.
… Sony pushed a firmware update that killed the battery.
But they were good (busted) enough to replace them over a year after the original warranty expired.
I’m an old geezer and it’s just that time of life for my childhood friends.

Just because

Old pair: Drawn and quartered.
New pair: Death by strangulation.
They cost a little more than these and I didn’t care to keep track of them.

They would no longer hold a charge. Seems to happen a lot with Bose recharable devices.
@heartny …and anything bought here.
yet another reason why I really hate this move towards wireless headphones

Yep. That’s how they feel.
Cancer. My 2 best buds. 8 years ago,
2 months apart.

@mamajoan guess you need “wireless wireless“ then. Might still be bite-able though.

my last ones bought here, DOA. No matter how hard I tried could not get the buds to charge, only the case.
@jmrobinett
Pretty sure I ordered those too!
Be a better bud to your buds.
