I think the “MEH” in the last photo was photoshopped. If you look at all the letters, the “M” is orange background with green letter, the “E” is green background with blue letter, and the “H” is red background with orange letter.
The “M” is right in the “MEH” but the “E” is pink with yellow letter, and the “H” is yellow with pink letter.
@cengland0 I’m not saying the photo is not photoshopped (that would be the easiest way to produce the photo, and is evidenced by the second photo), but the fact that there is a green ‘W’ set in an orange background would imply that there is an orange ‘W’ somewhere, and a corresponding green ‘W’ background. I imagine there are no set colors for the letters, just they stamp the letters out then match them with different colors. What you get is likely randomized. If confirmed (staff?), that would make getting multiple sets more desirable.
@cengland0 It might come as a surprise to you that EVERY PIC ON THIS SITE IS PHOTOSHOPPED, as is every pic on Woot, Amazon, Groupon, Sears, Walmart… but not Craigslist, where for some reason people are compelled to display their stuff in front of every piece of junk in their garage. Plus, somehow they have figured out how to get today’s sophisticated cameras to shoot out of focus.
@cengland0 I bought a similar set from woot several years ago and the colors where random. They do the punch outs from different color tiles and then mix the cutouts with the tiles so that you have a different color letter for a different color block. This is also why the letters fall out pretty easy since the cutout didn’t originate from that hole.
@narfcake I just burned an inordinate amount of time trying to find a video of piping jargon from Patriot to follow that up with. Unfortunately, it’s not on the Google. So, Prime members, pause here, go watch episode 4 (I think) of Patriot, and come back and click the star button below, and maybe post an “lol” or something as if I’d included the video here.
I’m buying one just because the meh decline emote or whatever you call that is the best one ever.
These things interlocked and maybe taped together will great garden pads.
@ojohn No, no, no! Do not put them together! They’re like Gremlins when you get them wet. Put them together and they’ll reproduce exponentially. You’ll be overrun with foam letters, pushed out of your home and you’ll likely threaten the very existence of our world! Plus watching foam letters in the throes of passion is just gut wrenching.
I’ll be teaching elementary next year. After 10 years in middle school I needed something that looked like I knew what I was doing. That and these are great for breaking a fall. Go MEH!
I’ve been casually looking for a set of these to use when camping in the desert, as a soft surface under my tent. This might be the one. The price is certainly right.
@cinoclav I love Harbor Freight. I get so much cheap crap from there that is disposable. Need a tool only once, that’s the place to get it. I use 20% off coupons when I buy something making it even cheaper. Occasionally they have 25% off coupons too and that stacks with sales prices.
@creativecstasy@cinoclav@cengland0 There’s a $6.99 coupon you can pull from hfqpdb.com, but if you pass a store regularly, it’s cheaper cost-wise to buy them one-pack-a-day with the 20% + a freebie coupon each time.
@creativecstasy Keep in mind, the one complaint on these is that the letters come out easily. That’s a stupid complaint if the point of these is for kids to take the letters out, but I don’t know that it’d make for a great camping pad.
I suppose you could probably glue them in or something but whether that’s worth it might depend on how much you value your time.
@dave@creativecstasy We put duct tape on the back to keep the letters in place when used as a cushioning area. Worked pretty well and you can take the tape off later.
Additionally, with the letters out, the tiles become pretty flimsy and make for poor block building. You need the letters in there for structural integrity.
We have this; received it as a gift. We don’t get it! Doesn’t work as a mat because the letters pop out so easily. And my kid loves to just pop them all out, so you end up spending a fair amount of time hunting around the room for the little foam nub that fits inside the letter B, or whatever.
Guys I’m not supposed to be telling people this yet but I trust you. My wife is pregnant with our first (and only if I have any say, which I don’t) baby. It’s approx. the size of a jellybean. I’m kinda freaking out. That being said it’s probably too soon to be buying toys like this. Meh, please save me one of these till around late November.
@jaypeeh Don’t get paranoid or anything but, Meh already knew. This stuff they throw up here may look random but Meh is tapped into the Internets, and they know everything!
I have some friends who are parents of twins and they told me interlocking play mats are a pain in the ass to clean, so I imagine these with additional pop-out letters to be a nightmare.

ABC as easy as MEH
Do NOT tease us with an Irk plush damnit!
@cinoclav I told The Spouse that there was going to be a noisy call for plush Irks! Glad you started it!
@magic_cave Must have Irk merchandise. “merchandising”:
@cinoclav Izizz the line forming for the Irk plush?
@magic_cave There’s been demand from his first appearance. One day we riot!
Can just I buy a vowel?
After posting that, I found this. hehe.
@cengland0, well that seems unnecessarily harsh…
@cengland0 I do that a lot.
Perfect! Just what I need to start teaching my kid some choice four-letter words! Gotta start at an early age.
Where can I get one of those Irk dolls sitting on the couch in the last picture?
ZZZZ
merry-thrilling-thrill
Well, it’s cool, I’ll give you that. But my kids are cats and they would destroy it in record time.
hmmmm… ~26 sq ft of 1 cm EVA foam… I might find a use for this… if not, I can gift it to a neighbor’s kid in July.

@phendrick Thanks for that photo. Here it is for lazy people that don’t want to click.
Spoiling the magic.

@PocketBrain Maybe it’s random color like you said. Some of the images show some pink mats which does not appear in the image showing all 26 mats.
@PocketBrain They photoshopped Irk into it, for God’s sake. Can’t trust a damn thing you see on the internet anymore.
@Flipit While I plan to rearrange my organize my next week, any other shirt pics you need?
(Hi, @PlacidPenguin!)
@Flipit
@PlacidPenguin FTFY.
@narfcake
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Mediocritee is a division of Mediocre, so technically we’re both right.
@PlacidPenguin New kid on the block. At the moment, I’m cleaning toilets and changing the oil in the Boss’ car.
@Flipit
What will you do once you finish all that?
@Flipit Nice try. @snapster drives a Tesla.

MOTA? Really?
Enough mota and I forget the alphabet.
/giphy mota
Meh’s slogan? I feel like every write-up should end with that sentence!
I bought it because I want to make the concrete letters Martha Stewart makes in this video:
http://www.marthastewart.com/990917/handmade-concrete-garden-planters
(sorry, I don’t know how to embed it and am too tired to figure it out)
somewhere there’s a mom saying “where’s the p?” and a child saying "it’s on the floor"
now memorize this song by morning, and we’ll all sing along!"
@wew Always loved this Three Stooges bit…
My son turned 3 today!! But I already bought him a couple presents, so the birthday budget is already maxed out
/giphy ripe-sultry-story
Son turns 2 in May. At least seeing the letters will help…
You are going to need 3 sets to teach kids to spell “cats eat rats”, all basic words in early readers.
@phendrick “catvideos” can be spelled with one set.
Someone has adorable kids.
I’m buying one just because the meh decline emote or whatever you call that is the best one ever.

@ojohn MAKE great garden pads.

@canarsie55 Or causing a fall when a letter is sticking up a little and you trip on it.
I’ve been casually looking for a set of these to use when camping in the desert, as a soft surface under my tent. This might be the one. The price is certainly right.
@creativecstasy Use a couple coupons, buy these instead as you won’t have a bunch of letters poking up. $8.99 for a set of 4 before coupons.

@creativecstasy Also, if you get lost, you could spell out “HELP” to be seen from the air! (But not “SOS”, unless you had a second set.)
@phendrick You could spell out “SOL” , “GONER” or “IM LOST” with one set.
The model number really is amazing. Made me lol so good. That model number is more spot on than 101 dalmations.

Yep

@brendino But looking for all the parts and assembling it is all part of the fun.
@brendino same. I hate these and threw the one I received away fairly quickly.

Mota is Spanish for marijuana. Today is 4/20. I see what you did there.
Thanks for offering this.
