I used to find songs with lyrics I liked, typed them up real nice with pictures and borders and stuff. Gave them to my guy for Valentines when we were dating.
Just married 51 years ago I was a submariner stationed in Pearl Harbor Hawaii. I wanted something very special for my new bride. I found a music box and had a message inscribed on a brass plate which read “for the music you add to my life.” When she opened it and read the message, she didn’t say anything–but when her eyes filled with tears, I loved her even more.
@shahnm It’s romantic when John Cusack does it. If anybody else does it it’s stalkerish, creeper behavior.

There was a time when Train could officiate your wedding. Not saying it beats these, because Train sucks, but it was an option for a time.
Slow dancing, swaying to the music
Slow dancing, just me and my girl
Slow dancing, swaying to the music
No one else in the whole wide world

When your girl pulls you into the mosh pit
@edguyver14 Don’t do it!
If a guy gets into the girls’ mosh pit, they will knock you out cold then dance on your body.

Hiring a string quartet to play Sinatra songs at an Italian restaurant. Not Olive Garden, a nice one where the waiters wear tuxes.
My husband asked me to marry him with the song True Companion by Marc Coen .
writing a song, performing it in public and then proposing. Performing that song and two other originals at the wedding.
@dhelmick56 no no no. Better make sure she is not a private girl before you do that
@dhelmick56 @tinamarie1974 They must’ve thought the question was “most cringe-inducing musical gesture”
@dhelmick56 @medz yeah. I mean maybe some girls would like it? I would crawl under the table and hide.

@medz a million times YES!
/giphy nailed it
@dhelmick56 My brother tried part one of that with his first fiancé…
I rest my case.
Buying her a flute.
@cinoclav
@cinoclav As in that one time at band camp?
@shahnm That was the thought.
@macromeh
Holding a stranger’s purse hostage and forcing her to dance with you to get it back.
@medz That’ll either get you married or arrested.
Good luck.
I love a good mixtape, too, but learning to play a song because it means something to you is pretty great.
@PolkSaladAnnie That’s why I learned the chords to Tenacious D’s “F*** Her Gently”.
Also a hit at college parties.
@medz that’s a good one.
