Not a great price for a commodity item. Amazon has several of these at the same price. I get annoyed by the cable used here which only works on this unit and can’t be used anywhere else.
This is going to be a stupid problem to have but the last few water picks I’ve bought have had a terrible problem where they fall off the counter and break. I guess it just lands nozzle first and snaps off.
Looks like the exact same one on Amazon for about the same price, under the brand Nicefeel. The good news is it has over 22k reviews for an average of 4.2/5 stars.
@n8mack33 There is another on Amazon that looks identical with a different band name (Uokmor) that is 4.3/5. And another one Inspart (with more pick heads of different shapes that is 4.3 stars). I stopped looking after that since the ratings are all close.
So then I looked at the reviews on the three identical looking products. Looks like most people are happy with it. The complaints are clustered around 3 issues (quality control issues maybe?). Many of the complaints are that after a couple of months, less than a year: it stops working/won’t turn on, doesn’t charge, or after a while turns on and off on it’s own unless plugged in (so at least that is solvable except while using it).
Since it is cheap and if you have “free” shipping already and/or a coupon it would be a reasonable “disposable item” price if you are one of the unlucky ones that gets a problem one.
@Kidsandliz@n8mack33 I owned two of these Mospro ones, and they do die after about a year in my experience. I now have a waterpik that has a much better battery, but the overall Mospro design was preferable.
@n8mack33@kidslandliz I just bought one a few weeks ago here and for the price it is pretty good. Nice strong rinse or gentle one. Had an expensive water pik years ago and this is definitely as good and more portable. Not sure how long the charge lasts and even if the battery doesn’t last years, for the money I don’t think it’s a bad deal
@n8mack33 I’ve got a h2ofloss brand one of these that I got on Amazon for $30. Works well and seems to be well made. I use it about one a week along with daily flossing.
And yeah, this is one of those Amazon items with all sorts of strange-to-an-English-speaker brand names /companies you’ve never heard of whose products are almost identical.
@bobthenormal I thought of a portable bidet too. On that topic, don’t waste your money on those electric ones that look like a… ahem… certain kind of toy. The pressure isn’t high enough and they eat batteries. Just get a manual, squeeze bottle type like a Tushy. Costs more, but works well. Yeah, I know, TMI for some folks.
@ItalianScallion I haven’t seen an electric one but I’ll steer clear… I think we’re on the same page, this flosser’s shape looks very similar to and reminded me of the squeeze bottle travel bidet lol
I have one very similar to this, probably purchased off the 'Zon. Works well after 6 months, easier to use than floss, and feels better (filled with warm water). Dentist says not quite as good as floss, but it’s the intention that counts.
@MrNews yeah, the choices are “better floss that i never use” or “less effective water pik which i do everyday.” mine actually a few days ago from last time i got it.
I’ve been using a waterpik in the shower for years, and it’s awesome. No mess, and the dentist seems really happy with how my teeth look. When I told her what I was doing, she said “that’s kind of genius.”

Sex toys, again?

@cmille1 @n8mack33 That’s good to know. Certainly the price for a years worth of use is reasonable (even if the “disposable” issue is unfortunate).

You can get 600 Plackers flosspicks for the same money and that’ll probably last you longer than the service life of this item
@dpease fun fact, you have to buy special plackers when you have braces, but a water pic works even better than plackers!
I’d be skeptical too of it weren’t for the braces. Water pik + braces is sooo much better than just braces.
But can it double as a portable bidet?
/showme power washing a tunnel
@mediocrebot excellent work
@bobthenormal oh no
@bobthenormal I thought of a portable bidet too.

@bobthenormal Speaking of bidets, SideDeal is offering a home bidet for only $10 Dalmo Non-Electric Self-Cleaning Bidet Attachment
40 bucks on Ibspot.com

POKER! JOKER! NOT MEDIOCRE! AWESOME!
I floss and then 'pik! Thinking about one of these for travel. (My teeth are kinda close together)
