Morningsave shenanigans
6So recently, I found some thing that I wanted on the morningsave website, but I was waiting for a coupon before I made my purchase. Well on Valentine’s Day they had a coupon for 20% off.
I went and found the item that I wanted, and I had a gray box underneath it saying that the item was sold out. “Bummer” I thought, I guess some other people had that item in mind as well, and it sold out.
Well, I happened to check a few minutes ago and magically they are back in stock. I’m wondering if they mark specific items out of stock when they do coupons.
Anyone else noticed that happen before?

Yup. They reduce available qty during special events. They sellout and then, magically, they have more stock for a new sale when the promotion is over.
We do not change quantity available due to coupon codes. Occasionally there are allocation buckets to save enough quantity for a future event but this is not optimized to avoid discount selling.
