THANK YOU, Irk!!! I hate that phrase so much, and not just because I’m crazy about cats. I’d still hate it if it was “to skin an alligator” or “a shark” or any other animal.
@macromeh I still don’t want to hear about skinning animals - but it’s kind of especially sadistic because it’s a cat, not a creature used for food. One could also say “more than one way to gut a cow” or “butcher a pig;” still gross but something done for a reason.

Naaah, I still can’t stand the term.
I don’t even like hearing the name “Bobby Flay.” I guess I think too literally or visually or something!
