My other half made me watch this film a few weeks ago. Glen nailed it. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Thanks for being the life support, @matthew.
The scariest moment for me was when Glen was talking by himself. Maybe the next installment should be 1978's Magic starring a VERY young Anthony Hopkins.
A lot of movies are great for a 13 year-old but crummy for adults. Some of them you can always see thru the eyes of a kid, as long as you were a kid the first time you saw it. Others, when you go back and watch them as an adult, you see them for how awful they really are and wish you had left your childhood memory intact.
I haven't seen "Monster Squad" in over 25 years, and I am not sure which category it is, but I am not chancing it.
@DrWorm It holds up surprisingly well. I enjoyed it as a 10 year old, and I enjoy it as a 38 year old. The song playing during the montage of them making weapons is great.
Wolfman's got nards!
@spacezorro I think this was right between "Rosebud" and "Here's looking at you kid" on AFI's top 100 movie quotes.
New seasonal series, great idea!
I feel bad for the person who had to watch that movie to write the script.
GLEN
@matthew Well the fact that he watched it and you didn't have to sort of makes up for the fact that he monopolized the screen time.

(However, "Wolfman's got nards!" made me laugh.)

@ACraigL That one really scared me. Puppets!
BEST SERIES EVER! I can't wait for the next one.

@DrWorm "Phantom Menace" came out when I was almost 13. I guess that's why I can go to bat for it when pretty much no one else does.

I'm offended that Glen was offended.
A little bit of Irk's "Maybe it Bothers Me More Than It Should" pops out at about 2:24 :P
@brendino I went back and listened and I hear it too.
These are fun. It's like a silly version of Cinemassacre's Monster Madness.
This discussion is missing a critical piece of information. No one in the world has ever called testicles "nards". For that alone, this movie fails.
@jsh139 were you not alive in the 80's?
@Thumperchick absolutely. And part of the 70s, too. But I've never heard the word nards until I saw this movie.
@jsh139 I think it was a thing in the 80's...
@Thumperchick yeah maybe. I remember we used to say "nads" a lot.
