My pink theory failed me. I thought, bright colors, I won't lose this. I was wrong. I have no clue where my drive is from the last sale. I do have a vague recollection of opening the package from Meh. So it was lost after it got to my house. I bought 3 this time, I will probably lose them all.
I am going to blame another goat for the loss, since she was much closer to the thumb drive. The goat pictured is "Goofy", she is an undergrowth removal technician. I assume she is subcontractor. Her placement agency charges $10 per week per goat, for her and the rest of her work crew. I don't know how much Goofy gets out of that $10, but I suspect it isn't much. At least she likes her job.
Unlike the rest of her crew, Goofy likes me, even when I don't have anything that remotely suggests of food.
@KDemo Back when watermelon was in season, I ate some from a stainless steel bowl. The watermelon was long gone by the time I got to the goats, but I still had the bowl. They were all excited by the sight of the bowl. Later, the owner told me that he feeds them grain from a bowl vaguely like that.
Another time, I ate a handful of Triscuits before I went to see the goats. I did not wash my hands after eating. It does not take much Triscuit scent to attract the whole herd.
@hamjudo You know, I have a couple of rocky, sloped areas on my property that are infested with poison ivy, causing issues with it reaching outward to areas I want to use... and there's a goat-rental service not too far from me... I think I know what I'm paying for this spring.
@hamjudo - I remember driving my brother to a goat farm in my old VW bug. It didn't take long after parking for those goats to start jumping on the car and nibbling at the license plate. Haha.
@RedOak Do you think brightly colored pipe cleaners will work well to tag them? I've tried brightly colored cable ties on some of my others, and those get in the way when I want to plug a bunch of things into closely spaced USB ports.
I figure the pipe cleaners can be bent out of the way more easily in use. When not in use, they can be formed into convenient hooks for storage.
@hamjudo seriously, what I do if the hole is large enough is use neon colored mason's line from Home Depot/Lowes. Make a loop that at least makes the thing visible.
For our suitcases/duffles/packs/carry-ons we also tie loops of the neon string to the handles. Makes our luggage stand out in a sea of similar looking black rollons/packs/etc... (No fair copying. We want to remain standouts. At least use pink!)
To make the line more substantial/visible, you can do a repeating slip-knot in the string - I'm told, actually a repeating crochet knot. Melt the ends to prevent fraying.
Also, who on the Mediocre Labs staff is the battle-hardened sysadmin sibling-in-arms of mine who came up with the title? A beverage of your choice to you, sir/madam!
