Membership, is it taxed?
2Noticed my membership charge went up, and trying to figure out why it’s exactly how much it is. I do see that it’s now $8.99 monthly, and honestly I haven’t ordered anything since February, so… not such a good deal.
But, is meh charging a processing fee, or sales tax, or what?
I am being charged an even $10.
I seem to be being charged more than the local tax rate.

This is not a definitive answer; I am not an authority, but…
Whether something like a membership fee is taxed, and by how much, can be variable not just by state but by county, city, special taxing district, and other factors that I would have no clue about. Sales & use tax is one of the most infuriating subjects in online commerce.
@werehatrack From what I can tell, if it’s tax, to get to $10 that is 11.2%. My tax would be 9.75%
@kevinrs I have run across instances in which certain types of sale or fee are taxed at a different rate than normal. I have no idea whether that is what’s involved for you. Perhaps meh.com/support can provide an exact answer.
Hmm Mine still says $5 like it’s always been.
@readnj You must live in a state with no sales tax. Mine is taxed and will go down a tad as I moved to a different part of the metro recently that is in a county and city with lower taxes… Now if I could just move far enough to leave the arm pit of the nation but unfortunately that is not possible right now.
@Kidsandliz I should have clarified. Mine is $5 plus. 34 cents tax.
