MehStalker got a facelift
23Hi there. Just a heads up, I’ve been doing some more work on MehStalker the past week or so. It’s mostly done, but it’s possible there will be more to come. Meh Encore is missing from MorningSave, but I’ll get that added soon.
Please let me know if you come across any issues, or if you have any thoughts in general about the new layout. As always, feedback is appreciated.
Also, purple stuff has been added for @Barney
@jbartus - A link to the chat room is also on there. If you don’t want it listed, please let me know and I can remove it.
Thanks!

Ha, I noticed! I don’t know how weird it is for me to give you feedback, but I’ll say I miss the search box on the home page.
@dave I’ll look at getting that added back in. At least it isn’t too difficult to get to still via Historical, but indeed, it was convenient on the main page. Thanks for the feedback!
@dave Should be there now
Any chance that the Android app will get a facelift as well?
(Also, while having the min and max API both set to Froyo don’t stop the app from working, I wouldn’t complain if you change them to higher levels
)
@PlacidPenguin Yep, it’s on the list to do. I broke some stuff with it last night moving directories around that I’ll have to fix tonight. API level increase was part of the plans already. The WootStalker app already had this done to it recently.
@lichme
On the other hand, you have a section all to yourself in the API statistics for user installed apps on my phone.
Aww… I love purple. Thank you.
@lichme When did Meh get promoted to it’s own page and not share one with Woot?
@dashcloud A little over 2 years ago, it was announced here. I still have the daily item linked from wootstalker too, but that’s more to attract people who may not know about it. MehStalker is for people specifically looking for meh.
Even more awesomer!
Thank you.
I look forward to 2300 local time each night when my watch goes off (Martian bought here on meh) to see what the day has in store. Thanks for your hard work…
No https?
@f00l It’s in the works, an OS update needs to be done first, so there might be a bit of down time when that happens.
@f00l https should be up now
Not sure what I’m doing wrong… When I search on chrome for android, a pop-up box appears, but it’s so zoomed in, and the box is so small, that I have to drag it around to read it.
@RiotDemon
Pinch the screen.
@PlacidPenguin that just makes the text bigger/smaller. I still have to drag it around to attempt to read it.
@PlacidPenguin apparently if I rotate the phone to landscape, and back again, the box fixes itself.
@RiotDemon @lichme
Ok, so using the search bar, I get this issue.
However, when I do a search directly from URL, everything is fine. (I.e Entering: http://mehstalker.com/?search=bluetooth+blender)
@PlacidPenguin @RiotDemon Reason is presumably because you zoom in to type out your search, so the popup box assumes that is your screens width. If you type your search, zoom out, then click “Go”, does it work as expected?
I’ll look into modifying that asap.
@lichme @RiotDemon
Even when not zooming in manually, the browser does it by default, and the issue can be replicated.
Zooming out before pressing Go will return results as intended.
@lichme yeah, it works if I zoom out after typing before hitting go.
It just didn’t work if I tried to zoom after the fact, it would stay in probably about a third of the screen. I guess rotating it twice let the pop-up know what size box it should be.
Thanks for the help, and the site.
@PlacidPenguin @RiotDemon It should allow you to zoom out after press Go now, let me know if it feels better to you.
@lichme works much better now. The box still stays smaller if I zoom all the way out, but the box is big enough that I can see all the way from left to right.
Thanks!
@RiotDemon Made one more change to the search results - removed it from the popup and on to it’s own page. Should look way better on mobile.
@lichme works great!
I go to mehstalker every day, primarily to check the previous listed price. It didn’t even annoy me that sometimes if the title of the listing changed it wouldn’t have a price, but now it isn’t on the front page at all and every item requires a search. Am I missing something or was that dropped? Seemed like a pretty important feature. I suppose I can just use google and skip the hassle.
@Jebbielax So to be clear, you’re looking specifically for the “Previously Found: $Price” section of it? I’ll have to take a look and see where that part of it is. Sorry for the delay.
@lichme correct
