Meh, please find and sell refurbished Sansa MP3 players. Please!
18I would buy my fill. And then I’d ask my wife to open an account to buy even more. I’m not alone. I would guess at least three other members of the Meh’terati would buy their limit. C’mon, Meh. Party like it’s 2009. (Seriously). In fact, I’d even buy a speaker dock and a Bluetooth keyboard for the right to buy some refurb’ed Sansas.

I still have my sansa clip from an old woot, works great to this day. There is definitely something to be said for the simplicity of it.
is it me, or is this deja vu’ all over again?
straight from the department of redundancy department
@Yoda_Daenerys
It’s always deja-vous.
/giphy vous
@Yoda_Daenerys Parallel universe, perhaps.
I’ve got mine, and I’m not giving them up. If there is a pot of Sansa gold somewhere, I’m confident that meh will find them. If that happens, I’ll buy as many as I can.
I’ve still got my Sansa ClipZip, with rockbox installed. It’s fantastic. After a few thousand plummets to a tile floor in a lab, the “Down” arrow’s starting to go, but it still works like the day I bought it, otherwise. Refurb and sell these bastards!
No Bluetooth, no thank you. The beauty of using my phone is no more wires.
Plus, I broke down and got a smart phone so I wouldn’t have to have multiple devices to carry. My music and my phone were on the same device.
@Willijs3
A Sansa w Bluetooth and wifi would be a dream device.
But without such an item, someone could just get an unactivated cell phone, load it with music using wifi, load it with an alt player if they didn’t like the default. Way less than $100, and has Bluetooth.
@f00l and then you still have to carry around a phone on top of said device. I used to carry an iPod Touch (then a Samsung Galaxy Player after the Touch broke) and a dumb phone. Now I just carry a smart phone because it combines the two and gives me the functionality I want. A Bluetooth Sansa still isn’t a phone.
@Willijs3
I carry more than 1 device. I like doing this. I don’t like risking burning the battery out on my real phone, since I play music, audiobooks, and podcasts all day.
And I dont like having my audio interrupted by calls texts alarms notifications whatever.
/giphy I’m weird
@f00l I’m with you on this. 16+ hours of audio on a charge for my now-old Wooted Sansa. Also, many phones now can’t have a micro-SD added to expand/trade out songs. And most of us also want to store pictures or videos on our phones as well, which eats in to our storage for music.
/giphy i’d rather be weird
my go to player has always been my Sansa device. I had a Fuse that I LOVED, until stupidly I left it out in the rain and it got ruined. I use them when I am mowing, working in the garden, or in the shop etc., i.e. times I don’t want to be interrupted by the phone, or have to worry about it getting dropped, or weighing down my pockets. I REALLY miss my fuse, but the older clips I have are doing OK, just wish they took micro SD cards. I am probably going to get a new Clip Sport from OD in the next few months after I recycle some more ink cartridges…
@chienfou
/image left the cake out in the rain
@Barney I think this is my favorite image.
@Barney My gawd I hate that song. I hated it when I was a kid when it was new and I hate it neow. I’m sure it says something about me that I hated it when I didn’t have any cakes to leave out in the rain. When my biggest problem was mehbe a flat tire on my bicycle, I just don’t know, but I HATE that song.
@therealjrn I’m glad I could make your day a little brighter.
Fuck, yes. The clip on mine broke, so it is literally being held together with wire and hope, and I still wouldn’t trade it for another brand. Count me as another one of those weirdos who likes having a separate device for straight up listening. The phone is only wireless while the battery lasts, and when playing music, that’s not as long as I’d like. (Plus, if I accidentally crunch my Sansa, replacing it would still be cheaper than replacing my phone and in the meantime I would still have a goddamn phone).
Am I the only one for whom such a product holds absolutely zero interest? I mean really, we are in the smart phone Era, we’ve had phones that outclassed mp3 players at playing mp3s for a decade or so now. I’ve never managed to run my battery down to nothing listening to music on my phone in the last four or five years so I really don’t see the point. If you absolutely want to carry an extra device consider a power bank if battery run down is your concern!!
@jbartus
Although battery run down is an issue, the functionality of s second device can extend far beyond battery preservation. Admittedly, carrying more than one device puts you into a smallish odd minority. But some noticeable tiny number of us, having tried carrying a single device, found we liked things better with more than one device following us around.
And many devices do not have removable batteries. Keeping a device hooked to a power pack while moving around is a pain.
If you are happy with one device, why worry that some random other person likes to carry two?
@f00l because if they were to sell Sansas here that’s yet one more day when they wouldn’t sell something I want. In other words I don’t really care if they like it, they are welcome to do whatever they want, I was simply weighing in on the other side here.
@jbartus I’d like to have them for my kids. I mean, I want them to listen to music, but I’d rather them not have a general purpose attention span killing phone to do it. 'Course, that ship has sailed already. They both have those $60 BLU phones from Amazon.
@Blahbbs so the cause is lost.
@jbartus My smartphone is too clunky to carry while biking or running. I don’t carry an “extra” device, I just carry the MP3 player. I know people stick with the phone, but I just prefer the ultra-light Sansa players.
@jbartus Yes, you are the only one, so go away.
@Barney Sorry…count me in for multiple devices:
The day my phone is the size of my MP3 player I will consider using it as my primary source for music. Meanwhile I bet most of the “only one device” folks carry a phablet the size of a small aircraft carrier.
BTW I am also the guy you will see carrying the DSLR because the pictures ARE genuinely better if you take the time to create them by using the capabilities of f-stop, shutter speed, white balance etc, as well as the enhanced lens choices… If you are gonna just point and click you will get pictures that are OK, but not what they could be. I will say there are some fantastic phone pics out there, but given the sheer number that get taken, statistically speaking some are bound to be.
@chienfou Smart watches will be the next frontier for music. A couple of running watches already have this feature (i.e. Polar M600)
My Sansa Clip and I: A Love story . . . Just after I got situated in my seat for a 14 hour trans-Pacific flight, the passenger next to me said, “Hi my name is so-and-so.” I smiled, said, “Hi,” put in my earbuds and turned on my Sansa Clip. The battery conked out right as the flight attendant announced that they were preparing for landing 13.5 hours later.
Remember BOCs containing dozens of them…
@MrJazz Like this?
I have a Sansa e300 (or something like that) that I dont need anymore. Who wants it? I believe it is 8GB internal and has a micro SD slot. FM radio built in… Let the bidding begin!
@jeremyb55076 Ok, I’ll start, I’ll let you pay me $20 to take it off your hands. You pay insured shipping, please.

@jeremyb55076
I’ll pay you $1 to let you pay @therealjrn $20 to take it off of your hands, but only if I get a 5% commission from @therealjrn for making this happen.
@jeremyb55076 Same thing amiright?
@Barney Don’t worry about who I am. All you need to know is I have a Sansa to get rid of…
@jeremyb55076 And I have four Sansas stashed away and one is a very gorgeous purple, so good luck with your auction.
@Barney Purple Sansa? I didn’t even know such things existed! Bing search images of purple Sansa Yup, very nice. So I guess my offering was not to you but the other many people who said they would buy one if offered. Or did I just call everyone’s bluff?
@jeremyb55076 I also have one left over from this 2011 Woot Christmas BOC. The gal who got them ended up with 61 Sansas.
@Barney Very nice. I honestly don’t need money for it (other than shipping). I would just like it to get used instead of collecting dust. After researching I am pretty sure it is a e260 so only 4GB internal. It worked fine last time I used it although the ‘scroll wheel’ is a little touchy.
@jeremyb55076 Perhaps you should have stated this to begin with rather than making it sound like you were auctioning off your Sansa. Once again, people here do not know you, because you have not posted much in the past. You may not get any takers.
@jeremyb55076 I still use an e260, and yes the scroll wheel totally sucks.
Amazon knocking ten bucks off 8GB Sansa Clip Jam today . . . Sansa Clip Jam $29.99
