I used to build speaker boxes out of cardboard when I was a kid. Splice them into headphone wire. For some reason, my dad got sore with me as he thought the speakers were better in their original housing... That boom box sucked anyway... Edit, and let's be real, you spent at least an hour on that. Don't lie.
@medz haha ok maybe 20 minutes once I realized it was funny and my boys started watching. took me longer to post I'd say.
@medz big time saver is the shape and weight of the speaker allow them to be wedged in quite securely at exactly the right amount of protrusion.
@snapster yeah, you don't want your cardboard enclosure to have inexact protrusion. ;)
@medz @snapster I missed the decimal and read that as 25 hours. Damn, I thought, snapster's as mechanically uncoordinated as I am. Sigh. And he's probably not blind like me either.
Ingenious! And it looks like people are getting at least 2 of the parts in the fukubukuros - personalized box and coffee cup stand.
custom deluxe wood stand ($30-$650, as shown $300)
when do I file the patent again? :D
@snapster PIZZA! Did you buy enough for everyone?
@conandlibrarian that box was an empty candidate for a speaker enclosure, but I do have leftovers in the fridge!
@snapster Halo - That's a solid choice for a demonstration song. We're gonna see this kit (or its pieces) for sale soon, right? We weren't all prescient enough to buy in advance.
@snapster actually that would make an engaging science project for late grade schoolers
@snapster Please tell me this ended up in someones Fuku bag. Please also tell me, it was mine :) Of all the things I've bought from Meh, I think my BT speaker is my favorite
If you duct tape an iPhone cradle to the top we could sell this as a speaker dock next Friday.
@shawn ahhhh!!!
One word... Awesome. I never built a speaker out of a cardboard box. How does it sounds?
@jimmyd103 rather absurdly good. I'm tempted to let it play for 3 days straight to test the battery life :)
@snapster
Why do you have a yellow USB turntable on your meh screen when the rest of us only get red or black?
Also that bowl is still really nice.
@patti It does look kinda yellow in that pic, but I think it's the red one.
@snapster unless you are running a diner or summer camp, that is a huge stove! 7 burners!
@somf69 he is probably planning to cook for all of us. He'll probably even bake chocolate chip cookies. All part of the next Fuku plan.
@somf69 And is that pasta you made in the pot on the stove? I see a pasta fork sitting on the counter. How come we weren't invited for dinner?
@snapster internets 101. Be prepared for crazies examining every pixel of a photo posted. Sleep well...
@marklog I'm not a crazy, I just have kitchen envy. My kitchen is from 1948 and is the size of a small closet. So small that my fridge is in the dining room.
@bluedog you and I have the same kitchen!
I don't understand this.
I would love to see a four pack of these speakers, instructions, scissors, and custom cardboard box for sale.
Or, just the speakers again.
