Meh - This shirt is way tiny!
7So - for once I ordered a shirt in a girl fit. I even got the XL since it was noted they run a bit small. A bit? This XL fits like...a small? A child's shirt? Anyone got a naked elf-on-a-shelf in need?
Maybe I can make 2 meh socks out of it.

This was in the specs ...
•Sizing runs on the small side, so size up if you're not used to American Apparel sizing
•Women's sizes are especially small: ...
FWIW, many of the women's blanks in the imprint industry are sized this way. Some brands are sized even smaller.
@narfcake I remember seeing that. That was how I selected the XL! With a normal shirt a med is a bit tighter than I care for, a large is great and an XL is too big. This is smaller than a med in my opinion. This is my punishment for ordering the girly one. Shoulda got the men's T like normal. Live and learn!
I'm building a T-shirt blanket. $5 for a new square.
@Renee4183 In the past couple decades, "vanity sizing" means nothing is "normal" sized anymore. That goes for guys too; depending on brand, i have pants that range 4" on the tag, though they all fit my same waist.
Always consult the sizing chart. I've learned that lesson the hard way a few times myself.
Yeah, AA Women's shirts are like the snuggest hipster skinny jeans of shirts. Somebody over there has a different definition of "large".
Do we know any adult females who wear AA medium or small? Do people even come in those sizes?
@medz Yes. Quite a few, really.
If you look into some shirt.woot discussion threads, you would find many women found themselves "excluded" when they switched to Anvil. There's a reason why the shirts Ramy uses at his sites are also as petite.
@narfcake You're not in that thread, which I find surprising. Were you not a member yet?
@dashcloud Further in, I was. My kvetching was more than made up for in the main Anvil thread. There's only a few pages in which I wasn't ranting about something there. :)
@medz perhaps young girls?
@Renee4183 yup, they should just call them girls' sizes and it would all make sense.
@medz The adult females that come in that size are the ones who make it in the Philippines or Thailand.
@aarond12 That's funny. Last I checked, Los Angeles is in California, USA.
@narfcake we live in the Philippines now?
@Ignorant Soooo ... why haven't you been goated yet?
@narfcake I think that is a most excellent idea.
@narfcake @Barney I'm not around enough to be a good goat :/
@Barney It is. Alas, it seems that every month, there's someone else more "deserving". I mean, @FroodyFrog has seriously been doing such a great job here that goatdom is all but guaranteed.
@Ignorant Excuses, excuses ...
@narfcake Hmm... And this is why I try to stay out of the goat voting.
@Barney @narfcake @ignorant
According to my records, I officially revealed myself after 444 days, it is now my 478th day.
I'm not really sure how I feel that after being a frog for about 4 years, that people are trying to turn me into a goat after said people only "knowing" me for 34 days... :/
@FroodyFrog The way things have been going recently, goats have been honored more than blamed.
Besides, you know it's all for fun anyways. And you wouldn't be the first to be goated for scapegoat reasons -- @Lisaviolet for being the good Lisa; @Barney - purple; @Thumperchick because she's always been so helpful.
@narfcake That's not the issue.
@narfcake @FroodyFrog I think it's best if we wait until nomination time to discuss this.
@narfcake The "good Lisa"? I really need to work on my rep.
@lisaviolet I think you are good and I miss you when you are not around.
@narfcake Fair enough. They have absolutely no excuse for making shirts that small then. Are they saving a few cents on fabric? When I shop for clothing in Asia, the sizes are very small just like what was mentioned. Then again, their people aren't the size of Americans either.
@medz I wear AA medium and I think they're great. I'm not ridiculously skinny or small. Just average. I guess I don't like a baggy fit but I don't think they stupid tight, either? I dunno. They're the best for me.
Valiant effort, @Barney ;-)
@renee4183 as Kickstarter backer, this is the first time I remember seeing you on the forums- you should really stick around more and post.
I think I've commented a time or two, but just about items I've bought. Might be in a thread about Grime Boss wipes. Hey, those even fit better than this shirt! (for real - those things are awesome if you get dirty)
I ended up giving a XL meh shirt to a 5 year old. A little long for him, but otherwise a good fit. AA sizing is fantasy land.
I repeat my request that you supplement American Apparel's women's blanks with another brand's women's blanks for sizes 2XL and up. That way people who fit AA are happy, and those of us with substantial frontage and ocean view can flaunt our meh-ness.
@madamehardy I find the men's cut a suitable option for this. The material is great and falls well, with the lack of side seams doing away with any weird "twist" you could expect from a men's cut.
Damn skinny people often referring to themselves as fat.. I am just over here like; "I earned this fat! I worked for it!!!""
I always get men's xxl. Way big, but incredibly comfy.
@lisaviolet That's what she said. Literally.
I liked the fit of the "Meh" tee I ordered a couple months back & ordered the same size. Went to put it on & one of the sleeve seams burst open!! This would be cool if I was a weightlifter, but I ordered the 2x due to being busty, not muscle bound! Not sure what to do with it, haven't even had the shirt completely on yet!!
@emt305 Looks like you got a bad shirt. Contact meh.com/support and see if they will replace it. (I see they are still selling them at Mediocre.) If Meh throws up their hands in despair, I have an extra men's navy 2x (unwashed, unworn) that I can send you. It seems that I have become the incredible shrinking woman and 2x is way too big, even for sleeping.
Let me know what happens.
@emt305 if it truly was the seam and it will fit if fixed, I could run it through my serger for you...
AA womens shirts are the only ones I think fit right :-/
@meh I wholly agree with you. AA lady M/L over here and I won't buy any other tshirt brand if I can help it. They're the only ones that have the right fit, cut, feel, etc.
I've had a bunch of meh AA shirts in XL without issue. this one was tiny. I agree.
