Mediocre Password Generator?
1I need to help some teachers create better passwords. I would love some way to get a list of Mediocre order numbers - or really, random "order" numbers using the Mediocre scheme. Given time, I could order something every day until I had a long enough list. That would make my orders a business expense, so I just might have to do that.
Or I guess I could search through the forum history looking for others order numbers - that would be weird.
But if there were a public interface to generating such "order numbers" that would be better. Any chance of this? @moose @shawn @mehcus @hollboll

I believe the three word order "number" was inspired by XKCD.
http://xkcd.com/936/
There are several password generators based on that; here's one I ran across:
http://correcthorsebatterystaple.net/
@narfcake Thank you for finding that xkcd for me - I was going to look for it. And thanks for that password generator site, too!
@sligett
If you get the "what 3 words" app or use the what3words website, you can pick a random spot on the globe and three english words will come up.
However, the vocab is i think not the full english vocab, and there are prob some other limits on the combos to make the combos memorable. However, it is lotsa lotsa combos.
I swear by LastPass. If nothing else it can generate very secure passwords for you.
@ACraigL
Love lastpass.
Tho i'm so paranoid i dont put pwds in it. I put clues that might mean something only to me. So far i've been able to figure out wtf i meant as needed.
Actual pwds are a combo of custom messed up phrases plus some personally created "random" stuff that i will forget soon because i am getting older.
Supposedly the key to all thse passwords is in a safety dep box. I have forgotten where the key to the box is, i need to have it drilled.
Except, of course, for the old passwords im too lazy to change and that any 5 year old might guess.
@f00l I have my key to my safety dep box almost in plain view... as long as I don't forget to put it back in that obvious spot! UGH
@fjp999
Those keys are an effing pain. You cant carry them around, you cant put them where someone might find one, you must put it where you can find it again and wont forget about it.
@f00l guessing your home is a lot neater than mine + I collect art especially small pieces and they are all over the place... not going to give away my little secret but I always thought getting one of those little carved out hardcover books or fake cola cans would be good - oh, I just had an idea for those keys - false bottom but working salt & pepper shaker!
@fjp999
If someone gets your safety dep box key, they prob cant get into the box. The main danger is that they move or lose the key. :p
PS My home is not neater than yours. Not logically possible.
@f00l "The main danger is that they move or lose the key. :p"
I was thinking the opposite - that they just take the fucking box so I got a HUGE freaking heavy box and kind of hid that in plain site (again)! My only fear is that I am home and they do A Clockwork Orange on me - except I live surrounded in a pretty busy neighborhood. Plus I don't give a flying fuck.
@f00l "PS My home is not neater than yours. Not logically possible."
those are fighting words

The order as many things as you can each day method is the best. IMHO.
@MEHcus I guess if I order from each of my eleventeen accounts, it'll add up quickly.
@MEHcus These are only for WiFi access. We've gone from simple wide open to complex locked down WiFi.
In the end, only needing about 70 passwords, I used a combination of my order numbers and ones gleaned from the forums. So you may be able to get on our WIFi network with a bit of guesswork.
@MEHcus And then be sure to post order numbers in the appropriate threads for us to see.
This matter is of great interest. Exactly what institution is referenced here? Name, exact location, and other details would be good. Is the usage logged? Any other security details we might "help" you with? The more we know, the more we can "help". Remember, we are your "friends".
@f00l Naw, not great interest. There is little of interest inside the wifi network. All the services are in the cloud. (Ok, except the CUPS (print) server.)
Thanks for being such a "good" "friend".
@sligett
Spoilsport.
@f00l Well, at least I'm no :fool:. :-)
(But I do love my CUPS server. I'm no expert (in anything), but CUPS supports all my client OSes. Love it.)
This one generates pretty much pronounceable passwords: https://passwds.ninja
@katylava Thank you.
If you really really want mediocre-order-number-style passwords... pick two from here and one from here
towering-swanky-yakor so you don't have to choose:

Thank you so much!
@katylava I just used this again. And then I copied your suggestion into my “secrets” file for future use.
Thanks again.
