Found it on Amazon. Lots of reviews so I sorted by newest and read a bunch. Seems a bit iffy on connection. One person said customer service told him it works best with apple phones.
For $25 bucks it’s probably worth a chance. I currently own a different one that works just well enough for me to not go after getting this one.
Its the wildest thing I’ve seen since Ronco
Ultimate Question! WHY is it on MeH
What’s the battery condition?, how long in a warehouse or did it just not sell? This is the first of ever heard of the meat stick.
What the kazue! I ordered one! Gonna see what this is all about. They sure are not cheap on the meat stick website. Look out Christmas!
Just checked out the App on Play store Reviews are horrible about app not working and not connecting. Seems to look like the apple version of the App has much better success… I canceled my order, think it was too late so I’ll gift it to someone with an iPhone
/showme Astronaut on moon using MeatStick Wi-Fi Extender to check on his slow cooking BBQ that has MeatStick 4 Quad-Sensor Meat Thermometer sticking out of it.
@pchops I feel the most American I’ve ever felt in my extended lifetime. This meat stick deal really drives it home. Where else but America could you wake up in the morning and realize that you can buy a meat thermometer for < $30 and this becomes one of the highest priority decisions of the day?
Looks like they tried to copy the Thermoworks RFX wireless probe. I don’t own one, but their marketing department says that they use radio frequency from the probe to the gateway because you are most likely putting the probe inside an oven, steel drum, deep fryer, etc. which sucks for wifi.
Not surprised that the complaints on this one are connectivity. They copied the design, but not the part of what makes a wireless BBQ probe effective.
/showme MeatStick 4 Quad-Sensor Meat Thermometer with Wi-Fi Extender has Verbatim tracker attached to it to prevent nefarious coyote from stealing it for his ACME gizmo.
@mediocrebot Poor Wile E. Coyote won’t be able to cook the roadrunner to perfection.
AI got pretty explicit (aka slightly less creative) this time, just to make sure it wasn’t messing things up.
Ah, a classic from “We Throw Two Darts at a Dartboard and Build That Product LLC”. Unfortunately, the loud and vocal unified opposition to their follow-up product, the “Teledildonic Baby Monitor”, forced them to close shop.
Today I brought a huge pile of cardboard to my curbside recycling. Some Meh boxes and also a bunch from the A company which also ships for W company.
BTW the Meh boxes are higher-quality and I often keep them for various needs.

Does it do the Meatstick dance from Phish?
Shocks my brain!
@divddsky You’re thinking of the Meetostikku 4.1 only available in Japan
@divddsky @smallbigtall
I can’t wait to take it out! TIME
Meatstick? What kind of seasoning? Where’s the nutrition label? That stick looks awfully thin, how many are in the box?
@werehatrack Only ONE
@dahobbs9 There’s two in the offer on SideDeal, but it’s still pretty pricey for a meat stick.

No need. It’s summer in Texas. I’m confident my meat is hot.
Just checked out the App on Play store Reviews are horrible about app not working and not connecting. Seems to look like the apple version of the App has much better success… I canceled my order, think it was too late so I’ll gift it to someone with an iPhone
@dahobbs9 Fortunately for me, the other half uses an iPhone.
Depends upon on just how Hot you get it!
@dahobbs9
You can say that again!
Depends upon on just how Hot you get it!
Thought it over more and placed another order as my last order did successfully cancle. Just figured What the h*!!
This falls under the category of “Why does this exist?” for me. Add that horrible name into the mix and I can see why it’s here.
@PooltoyWolf i smoke meat and make yogurt. my probe has been invaluable.
Searching Reddit seems to told nothing but complaints. Short life span, poor CS, and inaccurate readings.
If you really want one, get the side deal some when one stops working, you have another.
Hmmmm …

@mediocrebot I was thinking the BBQ woulf be running on earth, but this is pretty good.
“Designed for American BBQ”
Sorry, not feeling particularly American right now.
@pchops ¿Por qué no te sientes estadounidense?

(Argentinian BBQ has its own atmosphere!)
I believe these use capacitors for power, pulled from the battery in the charger.
This would be okay for smoking, but the meater pro at 4x the price takes higher ambient temperature for open flame.
Not sure how long the probe actually lasts before it needs a top off from the battery though.
If shipping was reasonable, I would buy this deal.
Meatstick! That’s what we call my coworker. Or Meat Whistle.
@Bumplepimp my coworker’s handle is meatwand.
@accelerator my coworker’s wand is meathandle.
@Bumplepimp We used to say “Let’s go out and get meat on a stick!”. Anything skewered would do.
So, I can cook this inside meat in a 550 degree F oven, then wash it in the silverware rack in the dishwasher and not void the warranty?
lol - I’ve been clicking since 2008
and I have yet to get a consecutive year under my belt
@Pufferfishy You have the unstreak-streak.

My 2 cents.
We live in a part of the world where we need WiFi to track down who stole our meat and meatstick
@txusa03 With this meatstick tracker, we’ll FINALLY find out who stole the keeshka from the butcher shop! They been looking for him since 1963!
@txusa03 Ohhh, that’s what the Verbatim is for …

The pictures for this confirmed my plan to be vegetarian.
Ok, how about gutting it and putting a raspberry pi in the wifi extender, then using the meatstick thermometer as a general remote thermometer?
And NO, I will not do this, because it’s a dumb idea.
@cfg83 no need to gut it, just get the rpi to pair with the Bluetooth probes and get the data.
@djslack Egg-salad!
Zero complaints about my 4-probe wired set-up. Even cheaper if you only need 2 (in 4 years I’ve never used more than 2 at once)
I do like the idea of something wireless, but short of the $$$$ units they always seem to have app/connectivity issues.
I was disappointed this wasn’t a stick of meat
I was more disappointed that this would provide my meat with the Wi-Fi password.
How long until our sirloins start hacking us?
In for one. . . no Georgia Red when it comes to pork.
@jrwofuga Unless you’re a butcher, if your pork is georgia red at any phase of your possession, it’s probably cause for concern.
This does nothing to diminish your point.

@ZPB but that one guy was able to repurpose the baby monitor to cheat at chess, so it wasn’t all bad!
I’m gonna ask the real question: does the wifi gateway from the 4 sensor unit also work with the 2 sensor units on sidedeal?

@pmarin today I reaped the rewards of sitting on the fence, such as they are. I won’t have to recycle a box.
