Maybe something for people impacted by Hurricane Florence?
7With Hurricane Florence finishing up, many in the Carolina’s are left with damage and debris to clean up. Furthermore, recovery will be slow due to the amount of flooding on major highways. As someone lucky enough to be in Raleigh and get missed, I’m left with many friends and family that were not as lucky.
If possible, it’d be nice to have some type of recovery bundle or something with proceeds helping out those in need.

Perhaps some of our mehtizens can post links to those who are helping with cleanup or animal rescue, or other kinds of hurricane relief aid.
I’d like to donate to smaller organizations, with small budgets, who could really use some funds.

Here’s a newspaper article on the Carolina Cavalry:

The Red Cross is always a good source/destination for disaster support. (Yes, I know, big organization, but they do good work.)

@PocketBrain in my experience, they are not good stewards of your donations. Money is spent where they choose not as earmarked and actual items tossed out in dumpsters. (Pigeon Forge fire)
@PocketBrain Count me as another Red Cross denier. Perhaps in many years past they were trustworthy. But in recent times there have been too many instances of misappropriation and very exorbitant salary-taking by their administrators.
They do have the name recognition though–they aint going away.
Cape Hatteras Motel is collecting non perishable food that will be personally delivered by the owners mid-November after other aid has dwindled but is still needed. This will help during the holidays. You don’t have to stay at their motel to participate.
