Massage Chair Recommendations
0My wife and I have been long considering a massage chair for her. She’s had many back pain issues over the years and we’re finally seriously considering something for the house for her. Do you have a massage chair? Do you have any recommendations? She has been looking and says that she minimally wants a 3D but prefers a newer 4D chair. We don’t have a huge budget, and I know you get what you pay for. Do you have an inexpensive one under $1,500 you recommend? What about the next tier level? Just looking for some input here. Thanks.

Here’s one that’s been on my wish list for about a year, and due to its price, will probably stay that way. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09LYPZMP2/
Probably not that much help to you and your price point.
Did want to comment though on the selection at Amazon. They go from the high end (above, e.g.) to a relatively low end (https://www.amazon.com/MAGIC-UNION-Recliner-Vibrating-Controls/dp/B01LZIIAR2/ref=sr_1_17 at $350 (which can be spread out interest free over 6 months with an Amazon store card). This lift chair might be good for your wife if her back makes getting into and out of chairs a problem, and if she is a smaller size.
I saw several Amazon offerings that were in the $1300 to $1800 range, and potential installment payments. Those included the shipping (but not the sales tax).
But the reviews are all over the place on just about all the chairs, regardless of price. On any given chair, some people think it’s great and others will hate it. It seems to depend on how the chair fits the individual for size and features. So if shopping at Amazon, read the reviews closely before deciding to order from them. (Returns do seem to be a problem from reviews.)
I’d suggest going to a local store and trying out their selections by actually using the features to find one your wife likes and thinks she’d enjoy spending a longer time in. (Some reviews said the chairs were not comfortable for a long sit-in.) Then talk price with them if Amazon carries the same one. (And, again, consider the reviews carefully.) I wouldn’t expect the same Amazon price, but if they can get within 20-30% it’d probably be worth it in terms of potential customer service issues, and especially if a return were necessary. Note also, that many of the Amazon offerings are shipped in more than one box, and so require assembly – reviews will generally mention ease of assembly. One from a furniture store is more likely to be completely assembled.
Also, ask if the furniture stores have returns that have been substantially discounted.
Hope my two cents helps.
@phendrick thanks. Those were my observations/thoughts as well. We saw that West Palm has a store or two so we’ll be making a trip down in the next couple of weeks to sit in some.
We did find one on Amazon that looks mostly ok so we may use that as a comparison when looking in person.
