Martian Watch with leather NATO strap
8I am very fond of the Martian watch but did not like the rubber strap that came with it. I went on to Amazon and purchased a 22mm leather nato strap (burnt tan/orange) and I really like the look of it. Wanted to share in case others were thinking about doing the same thing.

can someone provide with a link or info about buying different bands? I don't know too much about bands
@thekenya Here's the one I bought...
@thekenya Here's what I got. Posted amazon review with pic, see today's main thread for link. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VWY7UBA/ref=s9_dcbhz_bw_g241_i2_sh
@thekenya Watch straps for most modern watches are measured in millimeters, and come in pretty common sizes. 18, 20, 22 millimeters are the most common for mehn's watches. Generally, womehn's watches vary from 6mm to 14mm or even up to 20mm.
In THIS case, the Martian Notifier takes a standard 22mm strap. I get most of my straps from eBay. I like @densa's NATO strap, and have nylon versions of them on a few of my watches, but I also use standard leather straps, or silicone/polyurethane/rubber type straps on many of them.
Generally speaking, watch straps, like anything else... you get what you pay for. If you buy a $2 nylon NATO strap from eBay, you'll get a serviceable nylon strap with thin, stamped steel buckles. For $10-15 you can get a NATO strap with a thicker piece of nylon, or a decent cowhide/buffalo/etc standard strap, with cast or forged buckles. Spend $20-$30 and you can get a very nice leather NATO strap or excellent quality standard style leather (or exotics) with high quality forged buckles.
@thekenya Oh, and PS: don't scrimp on spring bars (watch pins). If you replace the straps, make sure you get a pair of good quality spring bars to match the new strap. I also get them on eBay, but I avoid the inexpensive Chinese ones and buy sturdy stainless steel spring bars. Nothing worse than losing or damaging a good watch over a $1 pin.
@ruouttaurmind mehdern watches*
The Ritche band i link to above is junk; after a month the finish is rubbing off.
