https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_(chocolate_bar)
"In most of the world, a Mars Bar is a candy bar with nougat and caramel, coated with milk chocolate, but without almonds. In the United States it’s called a Milky Way.
It was first manufactured under the Mars bar name in 1932 in Slough, England by Forrest Mars, Sr., son of American candy maker Frank C. Mars. He modelled it after his father’s Milky Way bar, which was already popular in the US."
@rockblossom
@rockblossom There’s a couple of melted ones down on Venus. If landers count…
@rockblossom So the Official Martian Language is CAPTCHA?? Does @mediocrebot know about this??
@IndifferentDude @mediocrebot @rockblossom Mediocrebot be like
KuoH
@IndifferentDude @kuoh @mediocrebot @rockblossom Perseverance be like WTF! Another Captcha?! I thought my only obstacles were going to be boulders. And a motorcycle is not a bicycle!
I installed CAPTCHA to save my fellow robots from wasting money on this crap.

@Cerridwyn What a cool image. What does the tiny caption say?
@Kyeh
no clue
i just looked for images from a search for “Ray Bradbury’s Mars”
@Cerridwyn Okay, I tried that and found an image that was legible. It says “One such a day, no man could think much about death, but the rocket’s guns were ready.” It was printed in Esquire magazine, but unfortunately you have to subscribe to read it.
@Kyeh
wow, how many years ago, lol
@Cerridwyn It says December 1950.
I got my name on Perseverance this time around!
Sure… some planets get all the love. And then some planets don’t get to keep the title “planet”. Keep your favorites. I’ll just chill out here.
@PlutoIsAPlanet
I just found out yesterday that my name (along with about 11 million other people) landed on Mars! I signed up back in 2019, but kind of forgot about it, until I read a story yesterday…
10.9 Million Names Now On Mars
@tohar1
ohhh…if those ticket numbers in the upper right are unique and in some kind of order, it looks like I signed up WAY before you did…
@earlyre Oh well, at least I know I’m in good company out there!
