I failed to make book. My NCAA bracket was busted on the first game.
@therealjrn
I was for UVA and a bunch of teams from TX.
How do you think my bracket looks now?
@f00l :sad panda:
@f00l @therealjrn I felt bad about my bracket until I saw yours.
/giphy thanks for the laugh

Got a fresh Kindle question for anybody out there in the know. Just this morning, when I went to download a book to my reader the blurb on the top of the page said that I had an extensive library ( so true ); but not to worry, because the storage space had been increased for such. So - is there limit that anyone knows of on how many Amazon books we can buy on our account before we are either “cut off”, or have to pay extra for their storage, or they maybe start deleting our oldest purchases? Any clues, anybody?
@scfd0766
Never heard of this.
No reason to have limits on what they sell.
If you are uploading your own docs there might be limits on that.
Kindle has very good call-in CS separate from Amazon’s. US based, well-trained, they answer questions instead of reading from scripts.
Google the phone number I guess. Don’t have it handy.
If you are just referring to your purchased Kindle library, some people have 6 figures worth of books and are doing fine re storage. Some people may own more than a million Kindle items.
@scfd0766 You download the books youre reading onto the kindle just-in-time to read.
You just download whatever you’re reading or about to read and delete it ftom the device when you’re done. It easily holds a couple hundred books. Are you really going to need all of them on the device before the next time you will be in range of a wifi to sync it up again?
@scfd0766 I believe it’s about how many books you can send to a device at once, not storage.
@f00l - & all others whom kindly replied: thanks much for the input, & gonna leave this question for those with much more brilliant minds than mine to figure out. So - any and all Sherlock Holmes fans out there - here are the facts:
The screenshot pic which callow posted is exactly what I am referring to.
I have over 2,200 books in my Kindle account.
I do not do anything other than download books.
I got that message when I accessed my content library - had not asked for any book to download, or specified a device.
And my Kindle device still has 1.10 in storage left on it - not even half full.
Amazon has not found a way to magically increase my Kindle’s own personal storage ( sadly ).
Those out there whom know about such things, I genuinely & sincerely bow to your knowledge - knowing the facts involved, any hypothesis?
@scfd0766
I would just call Kindle customer support and ask them.
Like I said. US based. No scripts.
Try this number.
877-253-3596
If you don’t get the Kindle Dept then ask for it.
@f00l @scfd0766 Googled it- you could only select 10 books at a time to download to your Kindle until recently. Some person on Reddit said they selected 267 books to transfer after the upgrade. The entry was dated 20 days ago so we just didn’t notice.
@f00l @sammydog01 - Bravo, my good sir; Bravo! I do hereby metaphorically award you the magnifying glass & pipe you so richly deserve! You have gone where no other went & solved this almost unsolvable mystery, and for that you should be awarded. Sadly, I have no old candy corn to send you; and so you shall have to accept only my sincerely ( & genuine ) thanks for a job well done.
@scfd0766
/giphy aw, shucks
New to me, also. I only have purchased books, but do have over 2,000 of them. What can I say - I like to read. Anyway, simply gave me pause when I read it … like, what are they trying to say here; stop buying books?!? Still reading on our old 2nd gen. Kindles in this house, hence why the extensive library. But the blurb also led me to discover that they no longer offer readers for sale with free 2G or 3G connectivity. Guess I’d better take real good care of the old ones I’ve got, huh.
@scfd0766
Understand your love for Kindles of gens 1-4.
I also still have mine.
I tend to user the Paperwhite, but … I do love the old ones.
If you need backups, they can currently be had very cheaply off eBay.
2000+ books, congrats! Tho you are just getting started.
We will never read them all, but having an enormous library from which to choose:.
Priceless.

@f00l This is a great deal. A GREAT deal. But I still haven’t gotten into audio books even though I have a ton of them. I’m still trying.
Audible: 3 books, 2 credits. Now ‘til March 29th.
Deal of the day prices have been creeping up, now B1G1 turns into B2G3… Audiobook prices are rising. If it’s still available, and you haven’t grabbed the deal @f00l posted just up there now is the time.
I just saw that Sunday, March 25 is the last day for the 12 credits for $100 deal. So you can turn that into: 18 books and a Alexa Dot for a hunnert bucks. That’s definitely a deal.
@ruouttaurmind
In the past they have varied sorts of sales including B2G3 and B1G1. I don’t think the B1G1 sales are dead. Hope not.
Re DOTD pricing, from the beginning this has bounced around daily, almost always been less than $5. With some exceptions now and then.
Hope they keep it low.
Anyway, the 12 credits for $100 is quite a good thing.
This is one of the titles available in this Audible B2G3 Sale. If you’re a fan of non-space near-future post apocalyptic sci-fi, I highly recommend. Definitely one of my favorite books.
