I get my sugar based coke products at sams club... they are also in glass... noticed last week they are now importing most of the coke products from mexico with real sugar in glass (sprite, fanta, etc).
Yes, we're damn lucky to have Wawa! If buying a soda there I usually buy the Real Sugar Pepsi (aka Pepsi Throwback). They currently have the real sugar vanilla and cherry flavors too. Yay!
@cinoclav Your picture reminds me that Pepsi used to have the same bottle only w/ high-fructose corn syrup instead. Hoping Wawa doesn't do Hoagiefest as every hoagie on sale every week, rather just one hoagie per period.
@cinoclav Store's more crowded because most people get the same thing every time, and they show up more often. It also forces me to consider different hoagie types, and if another kind really is worth the extra money.
@RedHot It appears they are in Maryland, Virginia and Florida, all of which is not considered the Northeast by the census. So while some locations are in the Northeast, many are not, therefore I rule in favor of @dashcloud definition.
I'm in NC so glass bottled Coke and Pepsi are all over the place. The real sugar is relatively new for coke and pepsi but companies like Sundrop and Cheerwine were doing real sugar in glass first. I just started drinking soda again about a week ago and I forgot how delicious it can be.
Earthfare sells mexican coke in teh charlotte area. And of course you can drive over to the choice warehouse and get a case of RC which still tastes like cola should not that sweet caramel colored crap they sell now.
There's a very large Mexican/South American (is that politically correct?) population in my town so the Mexico glass bottled Coke is in every deli, convenience store and take out restaurant in the area.
@bluedog It's politically correct if it's true. If you are labeling anyone who speaks Spanish and "doesn't look European" as Mexican/South American, that would be just be racist.
@KDemo I have not... but a friend who told me about it watched some kid guzzle one down, and proceed to bring it back up in the parking lot. heh. guess I would try one just to say I tried it.
All the Stop & Shops near me (CT) have Pepsi and Coke in the classic bottles. Pepsi also has "Real Sugar" in cans and 2-liter. Lastly, they carry Mexican bottled Coke with real sugar.
NB Apparently Pepsi is doing away with aspartame and substituting sucralose in their Diet Pepsi. Meh, who cares, diet soda is awful.
On the Eastern Shore of MD Wawa's and Royal Farms are battling it out. They are both nice stores and very similar. Royal Farms stores remodel their stores often, especially if a new Wawa is popping up near them.
@mfladd Royal Farms is getting ballsy. They just opened one in PA, right off 95 at Ridley Park. A few miles before you hit the airport. Stepping on Wawa's shoes in this area takes a lot of guts.
@mfladd There are 3 more currently going through the approval process apparently. All in Delaware County. I'd be surprised if they ventured fully into Philadelphia simply due to location requirements.
@dashcloud I have a Swiss Farms about 2 minutes from me. There are another 2 locations within a further 10 minute drive. Good iced tea but otherwise they tend to be kind of expensive.
We've always had glass bottled sodas in the Hispanic foods aisle of our grocery stores here. (assuming imported from Mexico) I never understood the point since they were much more expensive than plastic or aluminum. Do all glass bottles have real sugar?

@dashcloud If they're all the same price, why wouldn't you just want them all to be on sale instead of only one type?

What the heck is a Wawa??
@pitamuffin https://screen.yahoo.com/baba-wawa-home-000000231.html
@pitamuffin The East Coast's finest convenience store.
@dashcloud whoa whoa whoa Northeast buddy, NORTHeast
@RedHot It appears they are in Maryland, Virginia and Florida, all of which is not considered the Northeast by the census. So while some locations are in the Northeast, many are not, therefore I rule in favor of @dashcloud definition.
@MrMark I didn't realize they were in FL, I've only seen them going up. Do you know how long they've been there?
@thismyusername Exactly! Or it sounds like it could be an amusing euphemism.
@RedHot wawa's are taking over Tampa Bay Region. It's been about 3 years, but they are building more everyday
@shells we have one going in just south in port st. lucie (on florida's east coast). they are expanding rapidly
@pitamuffin Wawa is the East Coast 7-11 knock off.
@Saffer49 You must have some damn nice 7-11's- ours isn't bad, but it pales in comparison to Wawa.
@dashcloud how does it compare to Buc-ee's?
@TerriblyHuang No idea- never been to one before.
@dashcloud Are they as good at quik trips?
@dashcloud Or Cumby's? Or Curtis Compact/Tedeschi's?
@TerriblyHuang @thismyusername @belowi http://www.businessinsider.com/why-wawa-is-the-best-2014-3
@cinoclav no breakfast pizza? sounds like QT is winning ;)
@dashcloud Circle K.
@ThatsHeadly You mean that's not just a store made up for Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure?

Do you get to return the glass bottles for a deposit like the good old days?
@jimmyd103 You can in Ma.
The Mexico glass bottled Coke with cane sugar is sold around Boston. I don't drink soda anymore, but I might drink one of those every so often.
My card was cloned and used at a WaWa... and a Piggy wiggly... I thought they both sounded a bit fun to go to...

@cranky1950 CHOICE FTW! oh and Sundrop

@JerseyFrank or to be politically correct about it, you'd be saying something racist, but you might not be racist or be a racist.
@JerseyFrank Mexican is not a race.
@AlohaSnackbar Not sure what that has to do with anything here.
If you Live in Meijer Territory, (MI, & parts of OH,IN,KY,IL,WI) they carry all of the above back in the Pop/Water Aisles
As a Left Coaster, I've never even heard of most of the East Coast soft drinks on this map.
@KDemo Polar Half and Half is good stuff.
@belowi - Sounds like frozen coffee creamer,
@KDemo speaking of soda, ever heard of Lester's Fixins? http://rocketfizz.com/products/lester-s-fixins
@thismyusername - Not so much. I was alive when ranch was a place, not a flavor. Have you tried it? I think I'd hold out for dill pickle.
@KDemo I have not... but a friend who told me about it watched some kid guzzle one down, and proceed to bring it back up in the parking lot. heh. guess I would try one just to say I tried it.

@cinoclav I remember we briefly had a Swiss Farms drive-through in the area, which was an interesting idea.
@cinoclav If you have found one you will probably see a lot more very soon. These stores mulitiply very quickly once they decide to go into an area.
@mfladd There are 3 more currently going through the approval process apparently. All in Delaware County. I'd be surprised if they ventured fully into Philadelphia simply due to location requirements.
