@huntd umm, why would we want to pay $1.99 vs. $1.33? Especially if we (and you) already have VMP free shipping? Even without VMP here, Cabelas shipping = $5.95 vs $5 here. And zero sales tax here at Meh (we have a Cabelas in our state).
@huntdI "meh" everything I buy from meh. You're missing out on one of life's little pleasures if you don't do the same! ;-) And you didn't say you thought they were "junk", you implied you thought the the price was meh.
I own several of these (including Hello Kitty pink) - they're nice lights. The flashlight is bright as is the 'glowstick' part. If I didn't already have 5, I'd buy more. Excellent for trick-or-treaters and ravers alike.
@somf69 Yeah, I got the Halloween ones. Just peeled off the spiderweb stickers and poof! Just like these but with orange tops. Bet it's been 3 years and still going strong.
pensive-statuesque-stork My husband likes to use glow sticks on his fishing rod, I guess to get his attention if he has a bite. I figure these should last longer. Plus they are cheap enough that if they end up in the lake it won't matter.
@awk or everyday carry? Go check out /r/edc for a weird kind of geekery. Very confused when I went looking for a rave and found myself buying guns and knives.
@trisk according to amazon they have a lanyard (and I just noticed - thus the edit - that the version meh is selling has a detachable lanyard which an amazon reviewer said was pretty nice) which one reviewer stated to attach it at the whistle end so as not to get the light shining in your eyes (um duh)... perhaps that reviewer wasn't the brightest bulb in the bunch to begin with...
Wow ...I didn't see this deal coming.. Actually you might not be able to see these emergency lights either but hey ...this deal blows..it has a built in whistle in these emergency lights..so I just bought two sets ( 12 in all) BTW ..I'll SEE how they work..
I bought a singular colored light stick from LLBean for twice this package deal. It is much bigger and a different brand. It's got this little LED thing like you would find on a key chain, that you unscrew the tube and insert LED. Even considering the one I got has solid heavy duty plastic, I think it is worth maybe .50 at the most.
Considering all the differences and what I paid for a LLB, these might be deal ! Considering what it is most likely made out of, not so much.
I'll probably get some anyways. Halloween is coming !! bwaahahahaha
I will be handing these out to the massive gang of kids and parents that will ask strangers for candy on Oct. 31st. I will be hanging back with my three year old while my seven year old pillages with vigor.
I hand these out on Halloween to kids with good costumes. Standard chem-lights for regular costumes if they don't have a light on them. Huh. Antarctica.
The other night a late summer thunderstorm took out power in our area. While our lights only flickered off for a few moments, there were other folks stuck for anywhere between 3 and 36 (!) hours. That made me realize that we only had one measly, dim, weird handgrip flashlight thingy. Here's to more glowy thingies!
@jrwofuga i bet you get a majority of red. whenever i see these at stores it is all red. the blue and green are always sold out. i have several red ones already
Morning after pondering... Years ago I dreaded devices with button cell batteries like these LR44's - due to juice capacity and cost/juice capacity.
But no longer - the Internet is littered with inexpensive sources. Choose your own blend of generic and cheap (dime a piece) to name brand and not cheap ($3.50 each at the local grocery).
Personal brand/cost compromise preference is Maxell for 25-35 cents each in the appropriate quantity. Sources/prices change regularly so do your own Amazon/eBay search. Buy from a big seller to assure fresh cells.
The zombies are coming! Or, at least, Halloween. Can't believe these haven't sold out already. Maybe I should buy more. Those zombies are vicious and you really want to see them coming.
I bought six dozen of these in a Woot-off years ago for pennies on the dollar, compared to this price, and gave them out for Halloween. They were a huge hit with the neighborhood kids.
My 12 pack arrived today. It included a retail display box and a hanger thing. The colors were not random. I got four of each neatly arranged in the display box. One of the 12 has dead batteries.
super stoked, just got them all inthe mail. even numbers of all 3 colors! yeah. going to give these to my team mates for out next Ragnar relay in napa. thanks!
@annwat ::sarcasm:: WTH @galmaegi I give you a compliment and you blame it on the goat? ;) Last time I give you compliments... ::/sarcasm::
no in all seriousness, I've had a lot of luck talking to vendors about items. I had a speaker dock that went. Meh offered to fix the issue (I don't think they realized it was a speaker dock that was from months prior...) But I went to the vendor and the vendor replaced it with a speaker dock that they were selling for $100 on the site. (they claimed they were all out of the model I had... maybe Meh did buy them all...) Either way @annwat I wish you the best of luck. It's worked out for me in almost all cases however.
You guys screwed up again! Estimated delivery date was 17 Sep, it arrived today and is awesome. Kids are going to use these on Halloween, and so am I... Thanks Meh. Offer them again, I have friends who want some after seeing these!
Got mine today and noticed that two of them were on inside the padded envelope. Since they last for only 200 hours, I hope it wasn't stuck in the "on" mode for close to that time. If it took a week to arrive, they were probably on for 168 hours.
I now have a headache due to pulling mine back out of the gift-storage closet and turning them all on to flashlight mode to compare brightness in an attempt to determine. . .
. . . whether our mailman (usually) also used our shipment as a nap-pillow on his lunch break.
@TellarHK the cusomer support peeps can't follow all the threads here. If you were shorted, or have an issue with an order, you should write in to meh.com/support so they can take care of it for you. They work M-F and take a day (or 2) to respond.
I'd be bummed about 5, too. As it is, I'm mad at myself for not ordering more.
@StrangerDanger Either you mean "mesmerized" or you've got a really strange 1-year-old. ;-p (I love the giggles we get from "corrections" to our spelling.)
Add me to the list of people who were blown away by how nice these things are. When the pkg arrived, I gave one of them to the woman at the front desk of my apartment building. She lit up almost as much as the lights themselves. If you can get them again, Meh, I predict that they will be major stocking-stuffer material for lots of us.
They are awesome. I bought them actually as a gag to give out on my 60th birthday. (I'm known for being eccentric and giving gifts to others on the anniversary of my birth.)
So I opened the box yesterday and was impressed and had fun with them, including scaring the boss with the whistle.
And I got a surprise in my box. Since my real name starts with "S", I've decided to assume it was a birthday gift from meh, albeit not a planned one.
I've given away three of them and made my friends ecstatic! My one friend thanked me over three days, she was so excited. Yes, bring back magic glow sticks!

Bright idea
This deal has a glow about it
Great timing, I was just looking for a good deal on some cheap supermarket kid's toys.
In for 18
How cute, little light sabers. May the little force be with you.
@heartny Damn! you beat me by seconds...
7.5" light sabers?
Or put another way, 18 LR44 batteries for $8... not a great price for the batteries.
No purple?
@Barney I noticed. Very sad :-(
@Barney don't know if meh is selling purple but according to the amazon site there is purple.
@Kidsandliz Yeah, but I like Meh's prices.
"So it runs on batteries (included), not chemicals, and you can turn it on and off..."
B-b-b-but, aren't batteries chemicals that make electricity happen?
@djslack Darn it. I came to say the same thing and you beat me to it.
@djslack
1.99 at cabelas? Meh!
@huntd prove it.
@studerc different brand, but similar thing (glow stick powered by three button batteries):
http://www.cabelas.com/product/Dorcy-LED-Glow-Stick/1585141.uts
But apparently no whistle. Oh noes!
@stinks thank you!
@studerc Google it.
@stinks @huntd that one also only glows, it doesn't have the flashlight on the other end. If, y'know, that matters to you...
@Moose and no lanyard. Lanyards are deal breakers.
@RedOak umm, why would we pay anything that has been meh'd? There is similar junk at a similar price from a retailer (cabelas).
@huntd I "meh" everything I buy from meh. You're missing out on one of life's little pleasures if you don't do the same! ;-) And you didn't say you thought they were "junk", you implied you thought the the price was meh.
@RedOak I have meh in my state so it's a wash
@RedOak You must be very proud! (so glad I found the button to turn off notifications via email.)
I own several of these (including Hello Kitty pink) - they're nice lights. The flashlight is bright as is the 'glowstick' part. If I didn't already have 5, I'd buy more. Excellent for trick-or-treaters and ravers alike.
what did woot! find a trailer of these laying around they never sold?
@somf69 I have orange and purple ones in boxes someplace from woot
@somf69 Yeah, I got the Halloween ones. Just peeled off the spiderweb stickers and poof! Just like these but with orange tops. Bet it's been 3 years and still going strong.
@somf69 have not received any in a BOC, so my guess is... no. :)
pensive-statuesque-stork
My husband likes to use glow sticks on his fishing rod, I guess to get his attention if he has a bite. I figure these should last longer. Plus they are cheap enough that if they end up in the lake it won't matter.
in for 250. good for EDC
@ralphieeek EDC = Electric Daisy Carnival, I assume
@awk or everyday carry? Go check out /r/edc for a weird kind of geekery. Very confused when I went looking for a rave and found myself buying guns and knives.
@awk yes EDC it is :)
Perfect for the kids on Halloween night, they might even arrive in time!
Are these easy to put on strings?
@trisk according to amazon they have a lanyard (and I just noticed - thus the edit - that the version meh is selling has a detachable lanyard which an amazon reviewer said was pretty nice) which one reviewer stated to attach it at the whistle end so as not to get the light shining in your eyes (um duh)... perhaps that reviewer wasn't the brightest bulb in the bunch to begin with...
@Kidsandliz Guess 8 lumen lightsticks were a perfect fit for the reviewer, huh?
Wow ...I didn't see this deal coming.. Actually you might not be able to see these emergency lights either but hey ...this deal blows..it has a built in whistle in these emergency lights..so I just bought two sets ( 12 in all) BTW ..I'll SEE how they work..
tyrannical-ambidextrous-sugar
@AlexNoVA I had to google this image, I cannot believe they really made this... reference to "crunchy loggs"
@AlexNoVA I thought I had seen all the 80s cereals - this must have been from the 90s when I was drunk 90% of the day
Immaculate-flavored-pump
Such a good and subtle pic.
@harbour I love immaculate flavour! It is so sacrilicious!
I bought a singular colored light stick from LLBean for twice this package deal. It is much bigger and a different brand. Halloween is coming !! bwaahahahaha
I love thee lights. I have been waiting for these to be sold on Woot! for a while now.
@conandlibrarian hold your breath, this is meh.
I will be handing these out to the massive gang of kids and parents that will ask strangers for candy on Oct. 31st. I will be hanging back with my three year old while my seven year old pillages with vigor.
8 lumens ... I think a candle is brighter than this.
Grabbed 12. I've been wanting something like this for long exposure shots.
It's only worth buying these instead of Amazon's if I want >3. Now I'm trying to figure out how many emergency kits I need. Dammit.
How long do the batteries last?
@njd "Included 3x LR44 (AG13) button cell batteries last 200 hours in blink mode"
Resisted but the stocking stuffer and paid & already used VMP drug pull was too strong.
Tho it was the first time I had to cancel and immediately reorder due to the odious first order number!
@RedOak The order name generator has been evil lately. Glad to hear I'm not the only victim. It's @sohmageek 's fault, of course.
@OldCatLady yah, it insulted either my dear dad or me - couldn't figure out which!
@OldCatLady I apologize, some of my recent ones have been as follows: wayward-domestic-cabbage
mad-appealing-crowd unattractive-frosty-wrist
universal-ugly-son
contradictory: aged-fertile-penguin
Funniest was this: malicious-delerious-beginner for the iron... We don't iron... :)
Dammit..Halloween is coming up and the kids (ex-goat type) will love them.
freezing-bewildered-office
hallowed-dopey-salami in for one, umm 6?
@venussuz This picture is wrong in so many ways, looks perverted ha ha.
Worthy enough to help justify yet another month of VMP. I'm sure the kiddies will love them anyhow and the price is nice.
tailored-incognito-tooth
Bought a dozen to hang by the lanyards from the branches of various trees around our vacation place in the woods. Should look cool.
revered-nice-privateer
@JustKen
having some crazy lag and repeated something went terribly wrong messages around 11:30-11:50pm pacific.
i was finally able to buy 3 sets. going to use them for my ragnar team
@vampje it happens.
@RedOak i know just making note in case it was useful info for meh
These are great, very handy, good for kids on Halloween, too.
perilous-volatile-hedgehog
faceted-minty-wafer
I had to wait for one this good for my first comment.
@bmtka Eet ees onleh waffer thin...
I hand these out on Halloween to kids with good costumes. Standard chem-lights for regular costumes if they don't have a light on them.
Huh. Antarctica.
In for 3 before the next star wars movie drives demand up. Got the uber-fearing-gnome, will have light saber wars.
choosy-discursive-strawberry
Couldn't resist.

In for two (possibly more later)
ostensible-curly-oyster
Curly vs. the Oyster Stew:
one red in the random. . . typical.
@jrwofuga But is it Georgia Red?
@jrwofuga i bet you get a majority of red. whenever i see these at stores it is all red. the blue and green are always sold out. i have several red ones already
@Barney highly doubtful.
@vampje one can dream.
As someone who religiously adds to his bug out bag, I need some non-chemical glowsticks... for science... and Godzilla....
WOW My grandkids will love these awesome deal love me some MEH.....:)
@mellowirishgent don't point out the whistle until they are on their way out the door for home! It is freaking LOUD!
Morning after pondering...

Stocking stuffer. Last year. Think I paid $1 each at Menards. (And might have still gotten a rebate.)
Someone suggested Meh and these lights for a Bicycle party that happens monthly. I found the product enlightening...
I bought six dozen of these in a Woot-off years ago for pennies on the dollar, compared to this price, and gave them out for Halloween. They were a huge hit with the neighborhood kids.
These would be good for the turquoise pumpkin kids on Halloween. In for 1 set.
elastic-cautious-hedgehog
touchy-pendulous-louse
Less than 3 hours to go and about to hit 2,000 "sales". Impressive.
And it looks like that means 12,000 sticks since the "sales" count hits odd numbers. Presuming multiple orders from same user ID are in the count.
In for 2... well then....knockout-rad-lift
These arrived today (Great Lakes). One week to the day from order. Small-bubble-soft-packed.
Actually, these are nicer than I recalled from checking them out at Staples a couple years ago. Perhaps should have grabbed more.
And "random colors" turned out to be evenly distributed! 2 of each color. All modes on all sticks working like a charm.
@RedOak Got mine today as well and they definitely are nice for the price. I also wished I had ordered more, maybe next time.
KuoH
My 12 pack arrived today. It included a retail display box and a hanger thing. The colors were not random. I got four of each neatly arranged in the display box. One of the 12 has dead batteries.
@toddnet I ordered the even dozen as well. I couldn't figure out where the hanger s-loop was supposed to attach.
I hope there are enough of these left to sell them again because I would buy more.
super stoked, just got them all inthe mail. even numbers of all 3 colors! yeah. going to give these to my team mates for out next Ragnar relay in napa. thanks!
I got mine mine today - they're awesome! I regret not going in for 3 sets. These will be perfect for the turquoise pumpkin kids.
Much nicer than I expected. Should of gotten more. Next time !
mine came the other day.
3 6 packs.
these are awesome.
probably going to give them out to darkwads on mass bike ride gatherings.
Mine arrived today. One of the red sticks is faulty - flashlight does not illuminate and the glow stick part part barely shows up.
@annwat check the batteries by swapping them in from another stick.
@annwat You could contact Support, they are generally good about fixing things, and Don't bite... well I hear @galmaegi doesn't...
@RedOak @sohmageek - thanks for the suggestions. meh support has informed me that i have to deal with the vendor.
@annwat ::sarcasm:: WTH @galmaegi I give you a compliment and you blame it on the goat? ;) Last time I give you compliments... ::/sarcasm::

@cengland0 Bummer. Thanks for the following! ;-)
I now have a headache due to pulling mine back out of the gift-storage closet and turning them all on to flashlight mode to compare brightness in an attempt to determine. . .

Meh, I only got 5 in my package, not 6.

I'd be bummed about 5, too. As it is, I'm mad at myself for not ordering more.
@Thumperchick I ordered a 6 pack... I wish I had ordered the max... my son loves them.. I'm glad he hasn't found the rape whistle yet however... :)
@sohmageek The rape whistles don't work too well..
@kadagan dangerous comment. Will stop now.
My daughter thinks they are min lightsabers and my 1 year old is just memorized by it.
@gertiestn Same here! Wish I bought more!
@shells umm, that is a creative use case.
