An Amazon reviewer said he got the whole set for $120 from a "Membership Warehouse". Not sure if that's legit so $80 sounds reasonably decent. Still Meh for me I don't need anymore flashlights.
@Stallion Totally ignorant question. Does Amazon Prime directly compete with "Membership Warehouse" stores? I never think about CostCo or Sams. Like. At all. I find that weird. People talk about them all the time.
@ChadP Amazon Prime Pantry does more than Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime doesn't offer good "bulk" discounts, and Costco does not offer free shipping. Prime Pantry offers more of a "bulk" discount but charges for shipping. It's cost prohibitive to ship you a 12-pack of Coke for $3 with free two day shipping - but with Prime Pantry they can do it since they charge for shipping. One flat rate per order. amazon.com/Coca-Cola-Can-12-Count-Each/dp/B00HZYDW5E/ edit: I was thinking about food. For non-food items, yeah, I find Amazon to be better in everything except for return policy. Costco's is epic.
@ChadP There's enough product overlap in the non-food items that, yeah, they compete. Unique UPCs/product numbers for each store makes it hard to comparison shop though.
@ChadP My comment wasn't actually a question, it was info for people who were considering buying. And Yes, I think Amazon and membership stores like Costco DO compete. I shop them both and they directly compete on tons of stuff (Diapers, Floss, Soaps, Snacks, Etc). Maybe you don't consider them competition, but take a walk in a store sometime and you'll see they directly compete on plenty.
@Stallion I was the one asking the question. I've never thought of them in that light. You changed my perception. I was the ignorant one. Hope you didn't think the other way.
@ChadP I did take it the wrong way, lol, sorry. Now that i re read it I see yours was the question. But yeah Costco definitely competes directly head to head. Some stuff is awesome, some stuff the same, some stuff is not in competition at all. Keep in mind there is a yearly fee for the membership stores, so you have to buy enough to make it worthwhile in a year. I'm already a member of Costco and its closest to me, so its just another bonus when deals better than Amazon roll in. On the flipside, Amazon delivers it to your door where Costco requires a trip there which usually results in long checkout lines and wasted time.
This is a great deal. Unfortunately I don't know if I would use them enough to justify the price. Besides my phone has a flashlight app and it's already with me at all times.
Anyone know what the CR2025's are used for in these?
Also curious if the have voltage regulation? In other words will the brightness stay at the set level until the batteries die or will the brightness dwindle down and the power drops?
@BillLehecka I expected them to be heavier, and they probably are with batteries in them but the front part near the bulb is kinda spiky for some reason so I think you could do some real damage.
@JonT That spiky bit is considered a 'crenelated bezel.' (At this point I was going to insert a The More You Know gif. I couldn't bring myself to do it.)
@bluedyn It's not that I couldn't actually do so, it's that having done so would have tipped the cheesiness scale. But now you've broken it, so I guess we'll just have a go at it.
@phatmass i was looking for a voltron gif yesterday and liked nothing i found. then i went to megazord. nothing. help me internet. you're my only hope.
Man, if it were like 50$ I'd do it, and I'm still convinced this is a great price, but for flashlights? I still have the bad 90s yellow plastic ones and the weird hand-cranky ones, so when I'm in an emergency I'm fine. Kinda tempting, but still.
I've noticed the tactical ones have the jagged edge around the end the light comes from. Is that for stabbing people? If you wanted to hide the light without clicking it off, it may be difficult to cover the jagged edge.
@medz i think technically it's for breaking windows and general use as a tool. that said, it's a really solid personal defense weapon. or so i've been told.
@medz The scolloped bezel is multi purpose, imagine someone getting in your space and you poke them in the chest with this... I put a "scalloped" muzzle break on my AR-15, not that I'd ever be in a position to use it or want anyone that close if I thought I needed my rifle out, but it looks tacticool!
@medz that's exactly where it came from, also referred to as "2nd kind of cool" when buying something That actually has a quality tactical use... Like a rocket launcher that has a dragon mouth, dragon mouth is useless, but when attached to a rocket launcher it would be "2nd kind of cool"
@austinstorm With LEDs, color temperature (°K) also affect how bright the light seems. But that doesn't really come into play with flashlights much, so I don't know why I'm saying it here. Still gonna say it.
I really don't need this at all, but it's kind of cool so I bought it. The case apparently doubles as a lunchbox, so I'll win no matter what! Oh, except that I don't eat lunch...meh.
I wish I had the extra funds to buy this. My husband could use the them at work (though ideally he wants 1500 lumens). This seems like a good price, I just wish it had been offered when we were flush.
Wish I had the money. My brother-in-law says a man can never have too many screwdrivers. My sister says you can never have too many flashlights. She collects flashlights, including very bright and very expensive ones. I can afford to add to his screwdriver collect. She needs to collect something cheaper.
I have one of those lensor T7 's I bought on woot. Great little light. Put it through the laundry by accident and still works great ! I do want a bigger light. But not 4 lights. I wish these were sold separately, then I would buy the big one . I don't need them all. Bummer. If you ever break the set, meh, let me know, k?
I use flashlights daily at work, and currently hate the led flashlights. The light is too bright and focused, when trying to read part and serial numbers the light tends to wash out details incandescent lamps don't, and God help you if you look into the business end while checking if the batteries work. I don't know maybe I'm just old, cranky, and afraid of change.
@ongware It was too late for me.... I bought them... why? because I said to myself, they"ll be sold out by noon... and guess what? they were still there... it was a divine signal telling me to buy a set
@ongware I bought these because we actually needed a set. The ones were currently have are meh. That said while I know these are a great price I still cringed at $80 worth of flashlights.
@patti@jareza That's the thing. I don't need them. I'm that flashlight hoarder they were talking about earlier in. I've got those expensive flashlights they were talking about. One per room. At least.
@ongware That would be me talking about my flashlight hoarding sister. So I emailed her about this deal. She emailed me back that it was too expensive; she only collected cheap flashlights. Really? She has one that is close to $300, weighs a ton, eats batteries by the dozen a minute and I swear lights up stuff a mile away. Collects cheap ones. Right. Who is she deluding? She needs an intervention and a 12 step program. When we confiscate all her flashlights but one per room and two per car, one per key ring and a few extra for good measure you want the rest? LOL
@Kidsandliz ha, but th en I would need to get into an 11 step program! I have a lot. I think I have $200 for a flashlight covered, as well as a 60 minute battery life by another. More and more I'm beginning to realize the value of lower lumens and diffused light.
@jd@ongware@jareza HA! I do need a set. One of the first things my boyfriend did when we moved in together was "organize" and he got one look at my emergency bag and dismantled it before I could explain what it was. Anyway, I'm down to one shitty flashlight so I really did need some emergency flashlights.

@mediocrebot Here is a (medium) 200 lumen flashlight for $39 at HD (same price at Amazon). It does not directly compare to any in this set. It falls between the 400 lumen and the two 80 lumen lights. Given this..... I would say this is a smokin' deal. -1651317--10368321&cj=true">http://www.homedepot.com/p/Life-Gear-Highland-Series-200-Lumen-Tactical-LED-Flashlight-with-Red-Tail-Emergency-Flasher-LG21-70002-BLA/203425235?AID=10368321&PID=1651317&SID=1817561254-28-304601856461&cm_mmc=CJ--1651317--10368321&cj=true
I want the snack cakes, too!
@Thumperchick I haven't had zebra cakes in a long, long time... (drools)
@Thumperchick, @katylava and I got one of the zebra cake packs.
I endorse today's deal because it's not the same old, same old.
That being said, I really could not care less.
@peas I approve this message.
@peas meh
Why would you put Little Debbie snack cakes in there?
That case should only be used for Ring Dings , Yodels and Funny Bones.
@somf69 mmm Funny Bones....
@somf69 i hear the chocodile is back...
@somf69 All I want is just one more oatmeal pie. Little Debbie, Little Debbie!
@ChadP that is anoither winner!

@ChadP then where do you get your 400lb containers of cheezy poofs?
@badmnky is that a fat joke? that said, i don't really like cheesy poofy stuff.
@ChadP You mean am I fat and did I attempt a joke? then yes.
@Collin1000 for some reason costco is better than amz for a few specific items, esp during product demo periods, ie vitamix.
Also costco is better at mounting tires anr car batteries than amz.
@ChadP There's enough product overlap in the non-food items that, yeah, they compete. Unique UPCs/product numbers for each store makes it hard to comparison shop though.

@studerc Yeah, but it is not a military spec flashlight ;-)
Anyone know what the CR2025's are used for in these?
Also curious if the have voltage regulation? In other words will the brightness stay at the set level until the batteries die or will the brightness dwindle down and the power drops?
@ComputerMD82 CR2025 is for the red LED at the butt of the handle
@ComputerMD82 red light flashes SOS, for those few that know Morris Code.
@kylewood
@bluedyn Or Morse
"Includes 2x CR2025 batteries(Button cell)" for the Emergency Red Flasher.
@Gaster Ahh. Missed that somehow. Thanks!
@Gaster Yup. Cause safety.
This will go with this outfit
Screw lumens, I want to know how much blunt force trauma can these babies cause to a cranium...
@Cinoclav I'll just help you out.
@bluedyn It's not that I couldn't actually do so, it's that having done so would have tipped the cheesiness scale. But now you've broken it, so I guess we'll just have a go at it.

@bluedyn These are declining rapidly. But y'know, meh...
@Cinoclav Yeah, the well is nearly dry. And this one is so unfortunate.
@bluedyn
@bluedyn Yep, I think that one pretty much closes the door. Until next time!
@Cinoclav Whew! Glad it's over. For now . . .
I've talked to this guy and followed his youtube channel for years. I trust him, not that it mean much to you...
Sooooo tempting... I hope this isn't sold out in the morning after I sleep on it!
I felt so much meh and left so fast that I had to remind myself to come back and click meh....
Do these flashlights connect together like Voltron to form one big badass flashlight?
@phatmass if so, I'm in
@phatmass Just add duct tape and yes!
@phatmass "and I'll form the head!"
@phatmass i was looking for a voltron gif yesterday and liked nothing i found. then i went to megazord. nothing. help me internet. you're my only hope.
@ChadP Nothing?
@ChadP That seems a bit Cagey to me.
@ChadP
@JonT i want them combining.
@ChadP
@JonT ...i...just...can't...
@ChadP
@ChadP I just spent way too much time on these:
@JonT Except for you know, 2.
It would be nice if those were all AA and AAA flashlights so I could use the packs of Rayovac batteries I got from Meh last month.
Man, if it were like 50$ I'd do it, and I'm still convinced this is a great price, but for flashlights? I still have the bad 90s yellow plastic ones and the weird hand-cranky ones, so when I'm in an emergency I'm fine. Kinda tempting, but still.

"After you’ve shined the light in your attacker’s eyes and disoriented him, strike his face with the toothed bezel as hard as you can. The motion should be like stamping him with a giant rubber stamp." http://www.artofmanliness.com/2012/11/07/how-to-use-a-tactical-flashlight/
@badmnky tacticool. I like that. That sums up why people get cool looking stuff for their guns and such.
@medz that's exactly where it came from, also referred to as "2nd kind of cool" when buying something That actually has a quality tactical use... Like a rocket launcher that has a dragon mouth, dragon mouth is useless, but when attached to a rocket launcher it would be "2nd kind of cool"
Great deal. No thanks. Bought 3 things in the past 5 days already.
Can I only buy the snacks? Looks yammy.
@dintury777
@dintury777 I Yam what I Yam.
@dintury777 The Little Debbies are OK, but Chocopies are better.
@ChadP pretty sure that's a sweet potato not a yam.
@JazzyJosh Pfft. If it's good enough for Bruce, it's good enough for us to use them interchangeably.
I'd rather have the snack cakes...
@wyk3d Meh sell us snack cakes!!!
Ok, cut the crap - how much light are we talking about? Is 700 lumens like car headlight bright? I'm too lazy to look this stuff up.
@austinstorm basic car headlight (not the HD shit) starts btw 700-800 and goes to around 1500.
@austinstorm This image says that's 700 lumens. Might give you a decent idea, it's pretty bright.
@austinstorm incandescent watt usage to lumens is not exact, but this should give you an idea:
@austinstorm With LEDs, color temperature (°K) also affect how bright the light seems. But that doesn't really come into play with flashlights much, so I don't know why I'm saying it here. Still gonna say it.
@austinstorm Thanks all, this was helpful. Downside, now I kinda want these. My Mag-Lite suddenly seems so inadequate.
@austinstorm I loved my old Maglites for many years. Now that LEDs have taken off, I'm not really sure where they even are anymore
이거 하나면 다스베이더를 무찌를 수 있나요?! : )
@difains To defeat Darth Vader you need the light saber sound effects.
@difains If you defeat Darth Vader, buy [Wicked Laser].
@difains 이정도는 되야 다스베이더를 무찌를 수 있습니다. This is what you need to buy to defeat Darth Vader.
I'd buy this but I just got an $80 parking ticket so I guess I'm spending my money on that instead!
@Kenahn not very tactical of you.
@Kenahn Think of it as donating to the local Police Department.
Can I buy the metal case alone?
@LASig and snack.
o0o0o, flashy.

@Ruger9mm With a name like that, I would hope you know better than to look into the business end of anything while checking to see if it works
@Kleineleh Ha!
@Kleineleh Doh!
I read some of the reviews at Amazon, and they make me think of some kind of "flashlight porn." I mean, these guys are deep into flashlight love.
@Teripie now you understand how the Fleshlight came into existence
@khunjeff I wonder when Meh will start selling those refurbished?
Oh thank god they are finally sold out. I'm not sure how much longer I could have held out before buying one.
