@fogey2017 It could happen since these are corded ear buds. Decades ago, when carpets had no antistatic treatment, I remember getting a static shock through a pair of headphones to my earlobe.
It might be possible to get a static shock transmitted through these buds to your ear canal.
A close lightning strike could induce a current through the cord. This is unlikely to be fatal, as the cord is pretty short and thus won’t couple well with the lightning strike.
@capguncowboy Yeah they seemed to have avoided doing that on the mehrethons. They are over on Sidedeal I think but I’d rather grab them this way myself. My daughter uses the USB-C ones and likes them.

Have a pair, love them, got 2 more last mehrethon as backup for when they inevitably get broken.
I have the USB-C version of these. They’re fantastic. I wish Meh would sell those again

I have two pair of these I got from Meh - they are really good quality. The only rub is you can’t charge the phone when using them.
