Good vmp continuation purchase for the month! The last $14 trimmer from meh has worked well enough, but now takes 8 hours to charge for 10-20 minutes of use. Looks like this trimmer is $19 on the sunrise withhold site.
This model number is CP007047 / X0017EIQK7, while the link to Liberex’s website states a different model number number (JM-618A). To me they look identical, but can anyone see whether there are any different differences between the two that may have overlooked?
@PocketBrain I’m not looking to go smooth, just trying to keep things maintained. I’ve done the safety razor for my vasectomy, and it’s a hell of a lot of work.
@TBoneZeOriginal Maybe I’m just a victim of marketing, but aren’t there trimmers made just for that purpose? It’s an area of my body I wouldn’t use the wrong item on just to save a few bucks.
@TBoneZeOriginal Recommend the Gillette Styler using their #2 trim guard. Works great for what you want and costs about $18 on Amazon and maybe a bit more at your neighborhood store
@Citymars I’m not looking to save a few bucks. Just need another electric razor, and my facial one has been working fine for that purpose. I’m just tired of cleaning it before I can use it on my face again. Last thing I need is pube particles in my beard.
I honestly don’t know if the ones labeled for personal use are actually any better, hence my initial question.
@TBoneZeOriginal The best product you can get for this task is the Philips Norelco OneBlade. The blades have very thin blade guards and can do an extremely close trim without cuts. And you can swap out the blades in like two seconds.
Don’t get the very first version (original green handle) because it doesn’t have a lithium battery—while the tool is fine, charging for 8 hours is a hassle. All newer versions have lithium batteries.
Keep an eye out for blade deals on Amazon, sometimes you can get multi-packs for around $5-$6 per blade, which is a very good price.
I am the buyer of today’s deal and just got high off my own supply and bought one for myself, which I think is the ultimate endorsement of my own product! Actually picked up another one because it makes an excellent dog hair trimmer for our Pomeranian and the sample I had got swiped for beard trimming
What kind of batteries do these take and are they user replaceable? Would hate to get these only to have to throw them out in a few years because of bad batteries.
@Rueki It says it’s a USB charged internal battery but doesn’t say what type. I’d agree that internal battery fail after a few years (or less) is the biggest problem with any shavers/trimmers like this.
Fully charged in just 3 hours with USB convenience charging
@pmarin@Rueki
I’ve replaced the NiMH in a Remington a couple of times, but an off-brand like this might have a goofball cell that’s next to iumpossible to source. And it might be glued or snapped together in a manner that renders it resistant to noncatastrophic disassembly.
Just received this yesterday. Far better quality than I expected. And it does a great job! Best $14 I’ve spent in a while.
/youtube 14 dollars the hard way
THIS ITEM CAME TODAY, THE INSTRUCTIONS SUCK ,YOU GET 4 BLADE HEADS, NO EXPLANATION OF HOW TO CHANGE THEM, DO THEY POP OFF? OR DO YOU NEED A SCREW DRIVER? THE CLIPPER ITSELF COMES 80% CHARGED AND WORKED REALLY GOOD USED THE BIGGEST HEAD AND GUARD, THE HAIRCUT SAVED ME 25 BUCKS SO IM AHEAD OF THE GAME. BUT DO NOT DEPEND ON THE INSTRUCTIONS, THEY ARE USELESS, GREAT DEAL THE PROBLEM IS YOU MAKE A MISTAKE AND YOU HAVE A 2 MONTH WAIT TO CORRECT THE MISTAKE SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT 5 FOR GIFTS EXCELLENT DEAL HERE.
@mjc94ma Yeah, all the blades and guides were clean, but the shaver itself had crusty something in-between where the two halves of the clamshell meet. Had to alcohol-wipe that out. Also, the box looked repackaged.

Will this keep my crack clean?
Not all by itself, no.
@yakkoTDI maybe wait for a deal on a pressure-washer?
@pmarin @yakkoTDI I hear good things about the Ene-Max.
pro-tip: this is not an appropriate mother’s day gift.
@alacrity I was thinking more for the “in-law” variety.
With all the Dude talk, I thought there was going to be one line needed in the write-up:

Gravity is a terrible thing. The hair is moving slowly down my back, and no matter how the wife nags, I don’t want to hurry it long.

When I asked if you could hook me up with some trim tonight, this wasn’t what I meant.
@ShotgunX
We’ve been trimmin all week, I wish we had something not so manual!
Is there such a thing as corded hair?
@mike808 aka deadlocks
@dlskidmore @mike808 Puli dogs
These type of things also work great as beard/mustache trimmers.

@Kerig3 No difference. Link is correct. Vendor used internal model numbers for their warehouse and that’s what was listed. Good catch.
@mandirose Thank you!
What is cordless hair?
I have a Remington cordless bought in ~2006 ~$7 with three trimmer blades. Still works fine.
Isn’t “Liberex” the name of those sex position pillows advertised in the back of Rolling Stone magazine?
@Kerig3 What is this “magazine” thing you speak of?
@Kerig3 Liberator, I believe. But nice one!
@Kerig3 @redjeep0
The horizontal profile on the Meh-face for this one certainly makes the association stronger.
@werehatrack I just clicked the Meh-face and…oh Wow…haha…wow…just…wow…
The Trym II (Try Mii?) I got on meh eons ago mostly still works but I think it is about time to upgrade…
/giphy adherent-lanky-knowledge
@baqui63 I’m in exactly the same situation–my trusty Trym ll has seen better days and I’m preemptively looking for a replacement. This one might do.
@baqui63 @Kerig3 ditto
Exactly, Meh! They could use somebody like you!
(to bring them clippers)
Liberex has quite the selection…

I’m gonna go and ahead and ask since nobody else will.
Think this would work well on my balls? I’d like a second set so I don’t have to use my facial clippers down south.
@TBoneZeOriginal How close do you need to get? 'cuz you just can’t beat a safety razor.
@PocketBrain I’m not looking to go smooth, just trying to keep things maintained. I’ve done the safety razor for my vasectomy, and it’s a hell of a lot of work.
@PocketBrain @TBoneZeOriginal Next time, hire a doctor with a scalpel.
@TBoneZeOriginal Maybe I’m just a victim of marketing, but aren’t there trimmers made just for that purpose? It’s an area of my body I wouldn’t use the wrong item on just to save a few bucks.

@readnj Thank you, sir!
@Citymars @TBoneZeOriginal … or someone else’s pube particles in your beard. Though I supposed that might be fine depending on the situation.
@TBoneZeOriginal The best product you can get for this task is the Philips Norelco OneBlade. The blades have very thin blade guards and can do an extremely close trim without cuts. And you can swap out the blades in like two seconds.
@ShotgunX Ordered. Thanks!
@TBoneZeOriginal You might want to hold out for Black Friday deals. At the very least, this is the deal you should get if you purchase today:

@TBoneZeOriginal Wait, how does a second set of testicles help with this?
I could use a replacement for my recently deceased beard trimmer.
Minnesota.

Just paid $19 for this about a week ago on side deal… Balls.

@pmarin @Rueki @werehatrack You can probably figure out how to reuse the gelpac from one of the great many usb power banks you’ve already bought.
@Rueki @werehatrack Yeah spontaneous catastrophic ignition would be may main concern.
This thing is garbage! There are far better trimmers out there. Save your money and get a quality trimmer instead.
@astrogeek any suggestions?
For those that need to pay for shipping, this will be $18.48 with free shipping next week https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002883681785.html

I use the #4 guard to trim my grass. Looks awesome but it did take 26,561 hours. Looks AWESOME!!!

@mellowirishgent The blade heads just pop off. Push up on the edge where the cutting blade is and it pops right off.
I wish I had bought several more, as I was pleasantly surprised by how well this thing worked on my head tonight.

If only I could buy some more of these. I got them the other day and really like them, especially at that price.
@OutbackJon Oops, sorry. We’re sold out.
@OutbackJon $19 on Morningsave (the picture is a link)
Anyone else’s look… previously used? I’m skeeved.
@mjc94ma Yeah, all the blades and guides were clean, but the shaver itself had crusty something in-between where the two halves of the clamshell meet. Had to alcohol-wipe that out. Also, the box looked repackaged.
The maximum size guide comb was 9mm, a bit short for my beard, so I whipped up 12mm and 15mm 3D-printable versions.
