Let's Play Poly and the Marble Maze!
5Happy Friday! Today’s game is called Poly and the Marble Maze. The goal is to move your ball around and collect all gems to get to the red flag.
Warning: It’s not as easy as it sounds. Good luck!

Ugh, controls are horribly unreliable. Sometimes pressing the key does nothing for a second or two, other times it sends the ball flying off. “Release all keys to stop the ball.” is false!

@ELUNO How far did you go?
@galmaegi I only got all 3 diamonds up to level 7. Then I’m just flying through them every now and then while I do other stuff. I’m on level 12 right now.
@ELUNO I’m struggling on level 4. I knew you were going to be good!
@galmaegi lol. Are the controls bad on your computer as well? I thought it was because I was using this crappy browser… I see they have three different level packs… If anything I will only play the first one just grabbing a couple of diamonds… Then wait until next Friday’s game!
@ELUNO Yeah, it’s frustrating. Gotta find something easy for next one!

“The browser could not allocate enough memory for the WebGL content. If you are the developer of this content, try allocating less memory to your WebGL build in the WebGL player settings”
Nice game but when you get into the higher levels, it’s difficult to see what objects are lined up. Many times you make a jump and you fall off because you cannot tell if you’re on the right track or not. Would be nice if you could rotate the entire universe so you can see from different perspectives.
@cengland0 Yeah, already died a couple of times because of that…
@cengland0 I’m not having any control response issues, but this visual thing can be really confusing.
And I do wish the controls were configurable (hjkl…)
@cengland0 that’s part of the challenge, dealing with the perspective. Many of the puzzles would be ruined if you could change your perspective. The idea is for the challenge to ramp up as you progress.
“You need a browser which supports WebGL to run this content. Try installing Firefox.”
But… but… this IS Firefox!
@Starblind Hi!
@galmaegi really excellent find! I didn’t see this yesterday as I was out and about but I gave it about an hour’s play today and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a really nice change of pace from the more simplistic games you guys had featured of late, I hope to see more like it. (more involved / lengthy, not necessarily puzzle platformers though they’re great)
@ELUNO I challenge you!
BTW for anyone having issues with the controls it’s probably a combined factor of your keyboard and holding things down too long. The game requires a certain level of finesse and most membrane dome keyboards don’t have the responsiveness to make split second changes in direction. I noticed a distinct difference between when I went to play it on my TV using a cordless Logitech membrane dome keyboard and playing on my work computer with its mechanical keyboard. It’s very much doable but you really have to finesse things. It wasn’t unheard of for me to spend 5 minutes on a single level dying 50 times before I got the moves right.
@jbartus Ahhh don’t make me do it… Such a miserable experience… It’s not so much about “finess” since they act arbitrarily wrong. Sometimes it gets stuck rolling to one side without pressing anything, even after pressing the opposite side. Sometimes I die and when the ball respawns it keeps rolling off and dying forever unless I randomly press keys…
I challenge you to a duel at last week’s game instead!
@ELUNO I never had that problem at all. O_o
Last week’s game was unquestionably lame. It was almost exclusively luck driven. I mean really, a level playing field can’t even be pretended at when players spawn in and several are over a safe platform and others spawn in over a void.
@jbartus whaaaaat!!! It was unquestionably awesome! The spawn location changed every round. And none were ever over unavoidable death…
Plus we didn’t get to try out the volleyball or soccer modes.
@ELUNO this week’s game was about a million times better in every conceivable fashion.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@jbartus NEVER!
Also, omg, it was definitely broken on my computer. The controls were really, really, REALLY, broken on mine. I am playing it on a different one and it is completely different. I am breezing through the levels so far.
@jbartus Challenge complete!
@ELUNO Part deux?
