I’m not super a fan of either one of them but I take the kind first. Mostly because I can get one sick don’t have the kind of nuts in them that I can’t eat
The shorter KIND bars that meh sold a year or two ago. They had almonds & cranberries. Best snack bar I’ve ever had, by far. When I first saw today’s Meh I’d hoped it was those again.
I actually really like that bar that claims to save lives or whatever that meh had not long ago. Good mix of salty and sweet, and the mix of protein and fiber is not bad.
Never had a larabar, but I do have a pet labrador. Actually a mutt, but looks like a labrador. I would never eat her regardless. I’m assuming larabars are nothing like labradors- otherwise this is a sick question.
Bonk Breaker Collagen Protein Bars. One of the best bars I’ve found. Quality ingredient specs and optimal nutritional profile (sugar<protein). Great flavor and consistency as well.
@yakkoTDI They sell D2C online. And if you sign up for their newsletter, you can get some excellent promos like 30% off. While I prefer said Collagen Protein Bars, they also offer their namesake Bonk Breaker “Energy Bars.” This is where it at all started for them. These are higher on the carb side. The PB&J is absolutely wonderful, tastes just like it sounds, and has powered many long-distance rides. I use the Protein Bar as protein augmentation/snack and the Energy Bar during high-mileage rides. Bonk has other sport focused offerings as well. Check them out!
@JWhirly I have actually had their cherry cola chews and they are great to have on long rides. When I used to do more long rides I would combine them with ProBar meal bars.
@yakkoTDI Ah yes, the ProBar! We’ve enjoyed that one as well. Sounds like we have similar tastes (and hobbies)! Have you ever shopped at TheFeed website? They have excellent selection, decent prices, frequent promos/offers, and reasonable threshold for free shipping. They also sell by “open cases,” allowing you to try [in single units] the myriad of flavors and options in these sports-focused categories without committing to a full case. Check them out as well!
@JWhirly I have not shopped (nor heard of) TheFeed. They look like they have a huge selection so I will dive deep into their site since I need to get my riding levels back up this year.
When I used to eat the ProBar products it was in the before times when my friend owned a bicycle shop. I was a regular enough customer that I got better pricing.
Lärabar!! They make a lot of flavours I like. They also do not add sugar of any type.
@yakkoTDI Wait, somebody makes one without added sugar? I guess I should be less dismissive of that market as a whole.
@xobzoo They use dates for the sweetener. Some fibre, but it’s still sugar, so take that as you will.
@Salanth @xobzoo Natural sugars are not the same as processed sugars.

Best bar brand? Wild Turkey.
Hands down & bottoms up.
Na zdrowie.

Clif.
Nugo dark chocolate, chocolate chip
Nature Valley sweet and salty nut cashew bars
Snickers, it’s a damn fine bar.

/showme a fiber bar made with real labradors
Something went terribly wrong. Please try again.
@mediocrebot Indeed.
/showme a fiber bar with a labrador’s head.

@JWhirly Interesting. I will have to look into these.
