@carl669 I have hated that video since I was a child, and I'm pretty sure Lenny himself wouldn't even speak of it. That said, I love the way he says "BILBO" with pipe in hand.
@Thumperchick That sequence is one of my favorite ever in a movie.
One of the highest compliments I've ever been given--it started in elementary school and has continued even to this day--is to be compared to Spock, the character Leonard Nimoy brought to life, so exceptional and yet so fully human.
My favorite episodes from the original series (still by far my favorite among the Trek incarnations) were those that focused on Spock as so totally embodied by Nimoy--and especially on his intense passions and humanity. It's notable too that his character is so central to most of the movies.
Quinto has done a great job in the recent movies, but he stands on Nimoy's shoulders. You'll be missed, Leonard.
While he will always be Spock to me (I considered myself to have been raise on the Original Star Trek Movies) we can not forget the other amazing things he has done, some where around here I have his In Search of Series and one of me favorites
When I was 11 years old, I had a life changing (and near death) experience biking home from a July 7 viewing of ST2:TWOK with a close friend. Without Nimoy's brilliant portrayal of Spock, which (or is it who?) I essentially imitated for the better part of the next 6 months to help me process and deal with the shit that had happened to me, I'm not sure I would have gotten through it. And while I recognize that Spock was Roddenberry's creation, Nimoy was the man who brought him to life ... and for that I loved the guy like he was my Grandfather or my Uncle. Very sad today ...
So something I didn't realize: Nimoy was an advocate for body acceptance. It's NSFW, so I won't link but his "full body" project featured overweight women being sexy and naked and carefree. It's amazing.
He's dead, Jim. Sadness engulfs me. Sigh.
my fondest memory of him:
@carl669 beat me to it.
@carl669 Damn, that song won't leave my head now!
@carl669 this is incredible - thanks! (boy what a weird ending effect)

His final tweet from Monday.
LLAP
:-( Now the rest of the day will be filled with sadness.

being from Los Angeles, This is my personal favorite
May he rest in peace.

Met him once, at a very early Trek con, where all of the staff were pressed to serve as security when he made an unexpected visit.
Requiescat in pace
He did a wonderful commercial/video with Quinto for Audi...
It captured many things about him and his characters so well. Farewell Mr. Nimoy, you have left a wonderful legacy.
@duodec I remember the ad, but had forgotten the neck pinch. Thanks for the chuckle. Great little bit right there.
