@UncleVinny My daughter discovered baked french toast when she hosted breakfast for her high school cross country running team. (Crazy kids whose idea of a fun Saturday morning was to get up at dawn, run 10-12 miles, then descend like a plague of locusts on some hapless team member’s house and devour everything in sight.) Anyway, since then it has been our go-to breakfast pick for family get togethers. (The french toast, not the running.)
@sammydog01 you know what makes a great bread machine: a bread pan and an oven.
A little known fact, my mom makes the best breads. That’s an objective fact.* I also remember my ever expanding waistline during adolescence is the reason why she stopped.
unfortunately, we now live in a world where facts are subjective and objective.
@elimanningface@sammydog01 there are plenty of no kneed breads. And other options if you can take the time kneeding. Or use a kitchenaid or equivalent. Bread maker has worked for years when I want a sandwich or toast sliced bread. If I just wanted BREAD there are other options.
@elimanningface@unksol I know I should make it a hobby and actually do some work but tossing a few things into a bread machine and having an amazing loaf of bread come out is like magic.
For those that answered “way healthier than usual”, I am interested as to why that is.
I am eating way too much food because I am working from home and have easy access to it.
To a lesser degree, since the fresh meat choices are so slim at the grocery these days, my meals are a little less substantial, triggering more in-between meal snacking.
Here’s the crazy part: I’ve been working from home for the last 3 weeks. It seems like I’ve been snacking more than usual while at home so yesterday I finally got on the scale and was shocked to see that I was down a couple pounds from last month. I think I’ve been walking/hiking more now that I’m home and not at the office so maybe that’s the reason - not what I expected though.
I waited in line forty minutes in order to enter Costco this weekend and bought a giant container of chocolate-covered caramels sprinkled with sea salt. One of the best worst decisions I’ve ever made.
I’ve been making Yeast bread, cookies, cupcakes, cobbler, rice pudding lol I bake and cook when I’m bored lol I think they still make moo moo’s don’t they rotf lmao
Whatever I can scavenge from the pantry.
Lately, I’ve been eating too!
Not just lately for me. I have been eating my whole life.
Beans. Sooooo many beans.

There’s no option for “same as usual”…
We have a dish of jelly beans on the way to the kitchen. I’ve found if I eat just one, I’m not heading to the refrigerator or the potato chips.
@pooflady
/giphy will power!
@pooflady I mean I would expect the most disgusting “candy” ever to blunt eating at one
So. Many. Carbs.

Mom wants you to try this Thai Chickpea Curry recipe. It’s simple and good!

Also, if you start tonight, tomorrow morning you could be eating baked French Toast!

It’s super yummy. You’re supposed to start the night before, tho I bet you could just jump right in tomorrow morning and it’d be fine.
@UncleVinny that sounds amazing! I need to blame the goat for me being on keto!!
@chienfou is hoarding all of the toilet paper… again.
@tinamarie1974 @UncleVinny blame accepted.
@chienfou doesn’t cough into their elbow.
@chienfou @UncleVinny aaww, thanks! Wanna try it for me and tell me how delicious it is as well? Looks amazing

I dusted off my bread machine and make bread. So much bread. And eat it warm with butter. So much butter.
@sammydog01 I’ve made banana and zucchini bread, and today my son made sourdough. I think bread is our new comfort food.

I’ll worry about my waistline in June.
@sammydog01 Lots of people are baking. Now we can’t buy flour.
@unksol
Every time I see that phrase some voice in my head says: “Well, that’s good. Bread, in my opinion, should not have knees.”
@rockblossom if you want a good comic about carbs and this shit…
Way too much in general. How do 2.5 people go through 4 bananas a day???
@ecanada low potassium.
Way too much. I cook way too good. And I don’t use recipes.
@hchavers technically, heating in the microwave for 3 minutes, rotating, and continuing heating for one more minute isn’t cooking…and is a recipe.
@hchavers It needs more bacon.
@elimanningface
Way too much effort. Mine has a turntable…

Two slices of bread, one jar of peanut butter and no utensils. Figure it out
I was stuck eating way too much breadish things: Rice, pasta, pancakes, pinto beans, etc. Was starting to feel kind of bad.
Went back to the grocery store and there was actual meat on the shelf and now everything is good again.
@InnocuousFarmer
I first read that you were eating too many breakfast things, then had to reread to opening bit to understand.

That bread does look delicious.
Too much junk food, but not just lately. That’s my usual diet and the reason I run 25 miles a week.
