@phendrick No but you can deliver a can of beer across the room for your lazy friends on Super Bowl Sunday. Heck, have a party, up to 20 guests each with a dedicated delivery bulldozer.
@awk Now it makes sense. I don’t get work done quickly because I keep spinning my wheels. If I just get rid of all my wheels, I’ll become more productive!
@awk ah yes, wheels on an articulated loader. Never seen that before.
Fourrealdouh, tracks help spread out the weight of the machine over a greater area, they’re perfect for beaches, sand dunes, and muck pits. High-floatation tires can help in those situations, but I think with chains you’re just going to dig yourself in deeper. Source: I’m forklift certified.
@awk@blaineg@fuzzmanmatt Off-road forklifts exist. Well, okay, officially they’re “rough terrain lift trucks” but yes, they’re a thing. There’s a version featuring a shooting boom that’s used to lift pallets of materials to the roofs of houses under construction, and position them far enough over the roof to allow the workers to safely unload them. And loads of farm tractors have fork attachments as an option if they’re equipped with loader arms. For that matter, Clark used to sell a model (UT60D) that was a John Deere tractor with the control position turned around backwards, and the upright mounted at the implement end.
@awk@blaineg@fuzzmanmatt@werehatrack I was once offered a forklift for free … I bought a couple of antique printing presses from a company that was consolidating two plants and closing the one in my city. I was SO tempted!
@awk@blaineg@Kyeh@werehatrack
I’m certified on all kinds of equipment, since I work for a place that rents and works on them. Parts 13, 21, 32, and 58 to be exact. Just about the only thing I’m not qualified to operate on a construction site requires a CDL, and it’s only because they aren’t going to pay me any more if I do get it.
After eight years in equipment there’s just about nothing I haven’t figured out how to tip over yet!
@awk@blaineg@fuzzmanmatt@werehatrack I worked at Celestial Seasonings for a little while years ago. I learned to drive a forklift there before I learned to drive a car. (I learned that kind of late.)
You know amazon has huge influence when the model number of a product is just it’s ASIN.
The lowest new price on Amazon for this model was $255 back in March of 2021, so the “for similar” is not a bad comparison. Average price was $305 and it spent most of its time at $299.97 which is two cents more appealing than .99
@TurboFool I saw that too and my brain was trying really hard to understand/imagine what possible connection a front loader would have to the MCU. Like, why even use that logo? Does the Venn diagram of ‘Iron Man fans’ and ‘RC minis’ robustly overlap and it’s just off my radar?
So much red. Only if it were green it may possibly be disguised as a deer john to the wife. If eye were to buy such toy it would only be fair that the wife would spend the same on her own toy. That said eye wouldn’t enjoy equally the fun playing alone with such toy. The wife would settle in with her new toy. Eye would end up looking for a new wife.
@whomeyesu John Deere knows they can’t sell construction equipment unless they paint it Cat yellow. It’s red because it’s a Case knock-off, and it’s here because nobody buys Case equipment.
It’s worth filtering and reading the AMZ reviews: the “similar” one on AMZ has a lot of 1-star reviews related to the quality of the internal/electric components and also the lack of power.
I’d love to have one of these for the beach, especially if I could be 10 years old for a day!
Thanks, MEH ! Arrived today &, for a toy, it’s definitely a keeper. Built solid & tight - very weighty, & the hubby loves his new “trinket”. And, as all we wives know, it’s the length of the pants & the price of the toys. But on a serious note - the hubby has always had a weakness for these type of things, even at 64 years old. I was most hesitant cause of the price & the Made In China mfg., but once here & tried it sent me immediately back out here to Meh to check on the truth - & it IS TRUE! Yes; at least for me as a VMP, I could still access this deal, & did! To explain - hubby & I live on 3 AG acres right next door to most loved MIL & 93 year old step-dad’s 3 acres. So he’ll be drooling over hubby’s trinket at Thanksgiving … & then gifted with one of his own, & let the games begin! Thanks again, MEH - promises to be a most happy family memory to cherish.

You know those chains will make all the difference when I plow my driveway after it snows!
@robson You’ll be the neighborhood Laegende.
@robson Call Mr. Plow, that’s my name. That name again is Mr. Plow.
Do these come with lessons for cats to teach them to bury their poop in their litter box?

Ah, so that’s the “secret” to accomplishing a lot of work “quickly”.
@awk Now it makes sense. I don’t get work done quickly because I keep spinning my wheels. If I just get rid of all my wheels, I’ll become more productive!

@awk @fuzzmanmatt Who isn’t?
@awk @fuzzmanmatt Offroad fork lift?

@djslack yup, the Amazon page disappeared when we bought 'em, but here’s the triple camel for price history:
https://camelcamelcamel.com/product/B08DP2BQ7T
@djslack And currently on eBay for $249 + $40 shipping.
The A in that logo is definitely not the Avengers logo. Nope. No way. Definitely not. Totally different.
Wow! It’s less than $100.00! How many Mehizens had that first thought?
This is actually really cool and something I’d LOVE to have way too much fun with…but I must be responsible and save…
I can already hear my wife yelling at me and all I did was glance at the button

@whomeyesu Here are some toys for the wife (and you)
Needs a LTT review like the Arctic Hobby Land Rider 503 firetruck.
The real question can I use this to avoid hurting my back pick up my pups doodle while on a walk?
@ThyProphet Only if you don’t mind cleaning the scoop when you get home, and having the dog try to play with the thing endlessly.
okay but what does it have to do with the avengers
Cool toy. Not sure how many people would spend $99, let along $300, on this toy.
@adr5 Approexactly 255, so far.
These are great for cooking. My kitchen wouldn’t be the same without them.
@er1c How many are optimal for kitchen use?
@blaineg so basically I go through about one every couple of months.
Not in for 1. Or any.
@Trinityscrew But at least you made a useless comment!
@Telanis Seems like there’s a lot of that going around, eh?
Will I be able to drift with it & how much air will it get driving off a ramp?
@mrbillmc No…and zero.
I want this so bad. But I know how I am. I’ll get it, take it out of the box, run it, then find another squirrel to check out.
I wish Brian was more into things like this.
@lisaviolet I was thinking, wouldn’t it be funny to use for serving food on a dining room table?
@Kyeh @lisaviolet “Would you please pass me another baked potato?”
@lisaviolet @phendrick
It would be so much fun!

@bmajazz I think you’ve got it backwards. If you have one of these, you can be 10 for a day.
Many days.
@bmajazz I know I’m weird but lack of power and quality of electrical components are just another toy for me to play with.
Here’s the User’s Manual, which includes a bunch of replacement parts available. Doesn’t look likely to be an orphan . . .

@scfd0766 Oh, wow, I didn’t know previous stuff was still available.
Interesting, that seems to be the only one still available. Maybe because I bought it?
It finally sold out after a WEEK!
Is that some kind of record? Why?
