@grammarsheriff Brain the size of a planet and they’ve got me sweeping up pet hair. And don’t think for a moment that my allergies have failed to notice, either.
I got one of these (another brand) from Meh. The robot took one pass on my floors and committed suicide. Can’t blame it. The old vacuum barfed up its baggy innards too.
Different model (E20) $119 @ WalMart: Kyvol Cybovac E20 Robot Vacuum Cleaner, 2000Pa Suction, 150 mins Runtime, Boundary Strips Included, Quiet, Super-Thin, Self-Charging, Works with Alexa. WalMart has the D6 too @ $159.99
@dam091@drz E20 is their entry level model and D6 is one of their highest end. The D6 has their strongest suction of all their models. It’s suction level also makes it better at cleaning carpets and rugs.
169 when you clip the 100 off coupon: E31 Robot Vacuum and Mop, Sweeping Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, 2200Pa, 3 Level Mopping, App Control, Support Alexa, Automatic Charging, Quiet Design, Ultra Thin, Ideal for Pet Hair, Carpet, Floor Clean
@commodog so the D6 has higher suction at 3000pa and also it has a special dustbin/mop combo so that it can vacuum and mop at the same time. With the E31 you have to choose if you want to vacuum or mop by changing the bin.
I’ve never owned a “mopping” robot but have some questions:
Is the “mopping” here just dragging a wet pad around? Do you wet the pad manually* or is keeping the pad wet part of the robot function?
As a current robovac owner I’m skeptical of the “mop and vac at the same time” and “don’t worry about puddles” claims; in my experience a little bit of water gums up the works on the vacuum side pretty quickly and I don’t know how you’d avoid that in dual mode.
@Sardinicus I don’t know if you ever had a wet/dry vac, but as someone with a non-robot vacuum mop at home, the way the one I have works is by holding the dirty water in one bin and clean water in another. The system is built specifically to pick up water, since it also supplies it.
@jitc Sure, but I just don’t see how that could be the case here. Based on the pictures it’s a standard robo with a stick-on microfiber pad. The dedicated mop-bots have a reservoir-fed sprayer that goes ahead of the pad, I don’t see any indication of that here.
@Sardinicus Yeah, taking another look, it seems like their other model, where it has a water tank that sprays water that gets mopped up by the microfiber cloth after it vacuums up the floor that’s about to be cleaned. I’m guessing it must be built to withstand some level of moisture (when using the specific mopping tank, which, though hard to see, is attached to the microfiber in the main image).
“…its Gyroptic navigation helps D6 clean your home more efficiently while leaving ALMOST no dirty spots untouched”. lolol - if it says that right in the ad, I can only imagine. Besides, is that really mopping??? No. No it’s not.

I, for one, prefer a moping robot.
Marvin… you saved our lives!
Marvin: I know. Wretched, isn’t it?

600cc dustbin vs six cats. Yeah, that’s gonna be a really short battle.
@werehatrack Yeah, I’m waiting for one about the diameter of a 50 gallon drum and 2 feet tall to hold all the fur.
$300 at Home Depot… no reviews… hmmmm…
@chienfou
plus it looks like someone is inserting a CD or DVD in the thing in the 5th picture… Is this really a giant re-purposed diskman?

@drz For $11 more, easy to return to WalMart if you’re not satisfied.
@drz plus you don’t have to wait eons for it to be delivered.
@drz The E20 lacks the mopping function along with warnings to not allow it near puddles. I think it’s well worth spending $30 more for the D6.
@ciabelle @drz and worth $10 more to buy at Walmart.
@drz this has 3000pa vs 2000pa. Very big difference in suction.
@drz @mandirose but how big a difference
@dam091 @drz E20 is their entry level model and D6 is one of their highest end. The D6 has their strongest suction of all their models. It’s suction level also makes it better at cleaning carpets and rugs.
@drz @mandirose sigh. Never mind.
@dam091
ummm… 50% I’d say
@chienfou THANK YOU
@ciabelle @drz @ohhwell Worth $10 not to go to Walmart.

Am I a member for nothing?
@dam091 No, you pay 5.00 (plus tax) a month.
@hchavers Heyoo!

Once the HEPA filters need to be replaced, where do you get them? Kyvol doesn’t sell them direct, and Amazon/Walmart don’t list anything for D6 model.
@lxlx Cut up an N95 mask and hot glue it into place?
@lxlx @mwarren
just keep an eye on your friendly deal-a-day site for lots of KN-95 options!
There are multi-packs of filters readily available on Amazon and eBay, once you know the size. I think there are only 2 or 3 sizes in use.
does anyone else notice how many meh buyers there are in Montana - consistently?

Maybe I should buy this to vacuum my house since they never shipped the other one I bought 10 days ago
