@monkey I have been, it hooked me for a few days but my interest dropped off pretty quickly. I think the amount of resources you need to do anything is a bit too much.
New Leaf on the 3ds feels like you can play at a pretty steady pace and actually have more meaningful progress. I don’t think the microtransaction-based mobile model really works for me with this game.
@Krydon That’s strange, because I’ve rarely felt like I couldn’t build what I wanted to, even with the current holiday event going on. The two most expensive things are all I have left, and it’s only been going on for 4 days. You gotta really play it a decent amount and bop around between locations to collect a decent amount of stuff, occasionally buy things from friends, etc. But I haven’t spent a dime on it and don’t feel like I’d ever really need to.
@Skorpeyon Oh I definitely don’t feel the need to buy anything in mobile games. I guess it’s mainly not scratching the same itch (or itching the same scratch) as just playing the original model of game. I tend to have an issue with falling asleep while playing games like that so it may just be me.
I don’t really feel like I’m improving my campsite as much as I would be building up the town in the original game. Mainly I’m just not very invested in it.
@Krydon That makes a lot of sense, then. It’s definitely a very different thing. I play Animal Crossing kinda oddly, though. I rarely focus on the town or my home, I just wander around and do random stuff, then occasionally bother to pay off a loan and upgrade something. I don’t often even focus on goals like upgrading a given store or collecting certain sets of stuff. I think the part I tend to play it for translates well, but I can see how some of the other aspects don’t really. I wish they didn’t limit the vendors, as an example, but I think they’re trying to make the limited items last longer. It took me a week to just SEE Kicks, and he didn’t have much I wanted.
@ELUNO LOL. Sensitive, much? It’s not about being “better”. It’s a vanishing life experience, like riding a horse. But you probably wouldn’t enjoy that, either.

@DrunkCat Did you see the new Animal Crossing app?
@sammydog01 Been playing it since day one. Keep forgetting to make a thread about it, super busy month.
Ho! Ho! Ho!
FYI, snags anything you wear.
I remember when those were cool… and that was Jr. High…
I’ve never been less interested in anything in my life.
KK Slider’s lawyer will be reaching out to you.
@ELUNO better kk slider than Tom Nook, that guy would milk your bells dry.
But does it have the moves like Jagger?
Just looking at the first picture I thought they were on sale because they were infested with ants.
/giphy ants
@Coldrice Ow. Why??
@mehcuda67 The sequins flipped over to the black side make it look like a ton of ants are moving together across each clutch
This is playing into my addiction to reversible sequins.
They have these at the 99 cents store now.
Speaking of Animal Crossing, anyone playing the new Pocket Camp mobile game?
@monkey yup. But I don’t sign on too much, need to work on that

@monkey I’m playing but it’s getting boring. I do have KK Slider at my camp.
Mehbe. If I were a magpie.
These are perfect for New Year’s in Vegas. No other day or location on planet Earth.
45 more minutes of ugly? Meh.
Sadly, this is the only sort of CLUTCH many of you will ever experience.
@richrauch Sadly? Driving a manual doesn’t make you better.

@richrauch I know how to do both
@ELUNO Yet somehow it does.
Is that due to the fact that the majoritity of vehicles has automatic transmissions?

Repelling both humanoids and aliens. Super power!
why does this appear to be so popular in West Virginia? Just sayin’
