24Delayed regret due to no more IRK bags has arrived! After my last two irks were winners, I’m due for some major regret.

Mine’s supposed to be delivered Friday (21st). According to FedEx notification, it only weighs one pound so I’m guessing I did not get the volume of not-too-regrettable items you received. Time will tell…

@owlhooter I have a love hate relationship with the Knork flatware. We got it as a wedding gift. The knifed edge to the fork is nice, but the heavy ass handles mean if you set it hanging off the edge of a plate it may just decide to leap to its death.
It was pretty pricey if I recall, so that’s a score!

My IRK arrived today. Getting it during a Mehrathon reminds me of a few years ago when it was quite common to order a new IRK before receiving the last one! And I’m only imagining this mehrathon having been staged and waiting for the new bags to arrive.

It’s a portable solar panel for a power station that I do not have, plus two pairs of underwear and four little fidget keychains.
In theory, I got a good deal for my money. The solar panel is $180 on Sidedeal:

It has a (relatively?) standard connector and an additional adapter cable. I’m sure I could connect it to something else, but that other thing would still need to be some type of converter / battery.
I’m going to look at options… Maybe having a solar powered generator / battery available would be a good thing.

@Star2236 @TimW Yes, they are nice containers. The lids seal extraordinarly well. I already have lots of kitchen containers so these will probably be used for electronic parts, computer bits and pieces, hardware, and the like.
P.S. I’ve been AWOL with a GI bug my Mom and I picked up at her place from the other residents there. Everything except Covid is going around and they’ve been told to stay in their rooms.

That’s a bad one too, glad you’re starting to feel better. Everytime I start to feel better I get hit with another wave of mono, so I’ve just been trying to take it real easy and let my body fight it off. Of course every time I start to feel better I get out and do something so that’s probably not helping either.
@ItalianScallion @Star2236 @TimW Hope all you guys start to feel better. There seems to be all sorts of things going around that isn’t flu or covid. I have had a virus that included high temp, sore throat the entire length of my throat, laryngitis that I still have 3 weeks later, the usual headache body ache cough crap, something that was almost like nausea, and finally atypical pneumonia. Oh yeah and an ear infection early on. 15 days worth of 2 different antibiotics and I finally have ditched everything but the overwhelming fatigue and laryngitis. And apparently this is really common around here right now - especially the ending in pneumonia.My PCP told me to expect 2-3 weeks more of the fatigue. Um no thank you. Please give me a different opinion. I don’t like that one.
And this is what the inside of the fidget keyfob looks like. Those are LR41 batteries (1.5V alkaline), btw.

I forgot to mention that one of the contacts for the batteries was pretty crusty with corrosion. (You can see in on the right hand end of the batteries.) I wonder how long these things have been sitting around.
@ItalianScallion Got these in my IRK as well. Flashlight works. Does the rocker switch and six buttons do anything or are they like the fake open and close buttons on an elevator?
@rcwbbb They do nothing except move.
As for the elevators buttons, I’ve found that open buttons work and close ones usually don’t appear to do anything which is consistent with what I learned from a PBS program on elevator design for high-rise buildings. The open and close buttons always work when an elevator is put into firefighter mode.
@ItalianScallion @rcwbbb pretty much. They sold these a few years ago in bulk. I ordered some for my sister to give out in her classroom treasure box. About a fourth of them showed up with dead batteries. Those tiny batteries cost more than the Keychains and were hard to find so the dead battery ones went to electronics recycling.

@fjp999 yes, some 2.4 GHz devices don’t like mesh networks that also have 5 GHz during the initial setup of the device. In your router app or website u can usually temporarily disable the 5ghz band so u can connect the device. It should work fine after that initial setup. Also if you have a space in your SSID network name, some devices don’t like that.
@TimW Thanks for that advice. I kinda knew some of that but will just use it for spot cleaning without monkeying around with the settings… especially with all the bad reviews saying this thing dies after a few uses!

Wow, definitely the biggest and heaviest IRK I’ve received, worth the wait for sure. Most of the box was taken up by the pictured Amazon basics portable AC unit, plus the blue and white bag, some craft paint, and a travel mug stuffed in the top. In a house without central air we actually already have one of these type of unit, but this one will get some use for sure if it works (bottom of box was a bit wet from being out in the snow, will let it fully dry out before trying to turn on). For those not familiar, these kind of ACs are less power efficient than regular window units, but are still effective and can be used in more types of windows (also way easier to take out). Anyway, thanks, Meh/sidedeal!

. How many BTUs? Bought one of these in May 2024 in preparation for the hot Texas summer. Mine was 12,000 BTUs and cost me $249.99 on SideDeal. You have got to be good for at least 5 crappy IRKs and you’ll still come out ahead.
Use mine in the kitchen and it does a decent job. Vents out of the dining room window. Have a window unit in the bedroom that I got at Costco and cools the room better so I can sleep at night.

The heater works but the base is a little wobbly, like it was dropped. At first I figured that was the reason it was returned. But then I realized that the true reason is the small gateway to hell at the bottom.

A mini security system in a box, good if you live in a studio apt with one window and a Porno Queen Handbag. Yes I got a Mia Kahlifa pocket book. My wife asked who she was I told her to go to pornhub and look here up.
Sidedeal IRK ordered 2/20/25 delivered 2/28/25. Is this the right thread, I didn’t see a February one. That being said, I received a Health o meter, Partial Carbon Fiber Body Fat Scale, full carbon fiber rated 83 on Consumer Reports, ~ $20 value, batteries included… installed, corroded, leaking acid, scale DOA with new batteries, BUT, handywoman that I am, I disassembled it, cleaned off the battery acid/corrosion, reattached a wire that had broke loose, and voilà it works! I also received The Guardian Handheld Security Metal Detector, add a 9V battery and it worked right out of the box, $94.25 on Amazon, don’t know what I’ll do with it but it might be fun at our next family get together! 12 pack or Cherry Limeade x2 best by 3/2025, this month values at $3.33 based on the price on Sidedeal.com, not in the photo, (I forgot) a POGO Travel Adapter for Italy. ($?) and a Navy Blue and Pink IRK bag. Did I need any of this, no, not really, but I’m pretty excited about the scale as I have been working out and hopefully I will see some numbers changing! Pretty good IRK for $20, oh I better check to see if I got my $20 discount.
