@somf69 When you look at the butt end of the handle, end-on, it looks like a "D". It's supposed to be more ergonomic, presumably for right-handed users.
Since you are cutting on a ceramic surface, probably, unless you serve your steaks on metal wood or paper plates, it makes to sense to have steak knives with a nice straight edge. Besides, you care just cutting off a chunk now and then, not quickly slicing up something relatively hard, a serrated knife makes sense.
I'm not sure about these steak knives, but they are ten bucks.
Go primal. Pick up your steak with your bare hands and tear that flesh with your teeth. Besides being a pathway to self-knowledge, this is a great, yet subtle way to demonstrate your masculinity on a first date.
@cercopithecoid Omigosh! My daughter is home from college and just three days ago I watched her do that very thing with her own steak, and then the parts of her younger brother's that he thought were "fatty".
Someone wrote that, if only ONE of the twins is on the knife logo, this means the lower quality line. I guess the twins were serrated at birth with these knives.
@radi0j0hn The fancy (expensive) knives that @skymeat is "rocking" only have one twin. (On the other hand, they've gone as low as $15, per knife. Maybe they aren't ridiculously expensive. Just horribly expensive.)
@skymeat Compare $15 per knife to $14 total for SIX chicago cutlery that sold here a while back. Sure, you want to sharpen them before every meal, but if you're cutting steak on a ceramic plate or a warmed cast-iron insert you are going to want to do that anyway.
I bought some of these last time around. For the price, they are great, very good quality (again, for the price). Importantly, I don't feel bad throwing them in the dishwasher.
They haven't rusted yet (purchased Oct 29). Seems unlikely, I don't know that i've ever had even the cheapest ginsu brand crap rust.

Slicing and dicing up this deal, because its no good. No china knives for me
Blade runner deal for all u cut ups out there
sigh
Henckels rock!!! These might be their lower end line though.
@Stallion it is. There's only one person in the logo; two means the goods stuff.
@mcanavino didn't know that. The secrets out now.
No matter which way you slice this, I just don't like the meat of this deal.
that meal looks pretty meh.
@annwat Actually, I'd say it looks pretty well done
@lichme2 too much gravy
These knives look sharp!
I guess this is for people who don't want to finish first, even after Alec Baldwin's speech.
This deal must be a mis-"steak"
Knife set? What is this, 2015??
@lsuredbeard leftover meals
What is an asian D ?
@somf69 An impossibility in math class?
@somf69 About 2.5 inches

Meh deal to "cut" through the New Year !
Sole Amazon review (1 star, from Sept 2014) says knives rusted after a few uses.
Sole Review
@Comedian yes but that review is for "streak knives", obviously a lower grade knife :)
@opivp99 Don't look Ethel!
@nadroj plus one for under used ray stevens references.
So its 20 on groupon with free shipping sooooo five bucks? Meh
When buying Henckels, look for the twins. If you only see one guy, it's the lower version.
Fun fact, if I look at the word "steak" too many times in a row, I start to think it looks like it should be pronounced "steek".
"You only get the steak knives."
WHAT?!? The plastic fork isn't included??
I AM OUTRAGED!

I'm rocking these:

Seriously great. I've tried cheap alternatives and expectations were not met.
I'm familiar with these! They show up at the Goodwill all the time.
@wew I'm not knocking these knives. It's a very,very,very high class Goodwill.
This place is classier than I thought, no jokes about Meh givin' you the D?
@bobthenormal negative.
Schizophrenic?
@RedOak The steel is from Germany. The rest of the manufacturing is done in China.
@narfcake IOW: Scrap metal from a demolished building in Berlin was likely shipped to China and voila! German steel knives made in China.
@narfcake Still, schizophrenic.
@ciabelle Sounds about right.

Luckily, her Boy wasn't over to see it happen.
She's a cheerful conundrum, that one is.
@mehler If I saw my girlfriend go caveman on a steak like that I would start seriously considering marriage.
These steak knives are so over-serrated.
Boo serrated knives! As much as I hate serrated knives, that write up was quite a good argument. Almost changed me from hate to strongly dislike.
So far it looks like Vermonters are too sharp lose their heads over this deal.

@radi0j0hn - The steaks were high, but I guess one twin didn't survive. Was that dull Ben Carson responsible?
@mehler just a single twin, but entry level for forged. I did get them in the 20 dollar range.

No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
Serrated (edge), fabricated (in China), deflated (12 mehs in a row)...
