It is about to rain here in SF Bay Area, nothing big, but raining none the less for the next week. - normally we have about 40" of rain during the “wet” season (October-May), so far we have 13". I want rain - I will dance in it - I don’t want to burn up this summer.
@phendrick, same. But then he’ll decide he doesn’t want to go out after all once he realizes it’s raining. But since he needs to handle business, I make him go out anyway.
@kittykat9180 Nice days, I usually take mine out the front door and to the nearby park. But I’ll try to get her to go outside in the fenced back yard when it is raining. She’ll take a look at the rain coming down, and then immediately head for the front door! She’s three years old, and still hasn’t put it together. smh.
@UncleVinny: I lived in Oregon for a while (Loved it!) When I first moved there I saw a t-shirt: Welcome to the Oregon Rain Festival - January 1 - December 31.
If it’s just rain, I grab a hat, raincoat and umbrella. It’s not like I’m a baseball player. But if there’s significant winds with it I’m avoiding out of doors.
Mowing
motor vehicle maintenance
Any job requiring use of electric power tools outside
Outdoor painting
Go on and do the thing:
Go to work (at the ER) Can’t really WFH
Shopping/traveling
Pool/spa time (if no lightening)
some gardening, manual plant trimming
taking care of the chickens
Living in the Southern states, most of the time the rain is not terribly cold so a lot depends on my mood and the urgency of the project at hand. I also generally keep up with the forecast, so I plan my activities accordingly in advance.
We have an access lot for the lake between two neighbors at my dads house and it has a big hill leading down to the lake. One neighbor always has a 4th of July party but half way through the day it started to downpour. So in stead on sitting inside I decided to get a bottle of dish soap and a garbage bag and start sliding down the hill. Everyone came out and slide down the hill and we ended up dancing and playing in the lake in the rain. That was probably one funnest 4th of July’s I’ve had.
When we would take my elderly dad on vacation he would always complain if it rained where we were. I tried to explain to him that someone was always on vacation in those spots and they had to have some rain sometimes or all the plants would die and we wouldn’t want to be there… So we were just the “lucky” ones!
(besides, a bad day at the beach is still generally better than a good day at work…)
I hate rain so much.

Guess I’ll stay inside – at least until my dog insists on going for her walk.

Oregonian here, so the rain doesn’t bother me much at all.
@UncleVinny
@macromeh
Glen: I guess that’s what they call a way-homer. Ya only get it on the way home.
H.I.: I’m already home, Glen.

With the dangers of Outside, I am perfectly happy to stay Inside whether Rain or Shine.
I don’t like going out in the rain but there’s not much I can do about it, right?
Good Saturday for hanging at the backyard pub and playing some darts with the fella

Drive to the fields and see if we can still get practice in. /coachmode

Never rains here. < 6" last year. .008" precipitation so far this year.
