@tinamarie1974 still hitting nearly a 100 this weekend. Hasn’t rained in about 5 weeks. I’m afraid if I blink out in the yard the grass will explode into flames…
@chienfou@tinamarie1974 We have fire bans due to around that many weeks of no rain too and daily highs like 97. News says average temp for this month is highest on record and more than 10 degrees above normal. Only good thing about no rain is that the leak in my apt means no standing water by the motel style heater/AC unit and thus the rug isn’t continuing to mold.
@tinamarie1974 95 degrees here and I’m so over it. Need open window weather. This is like the never ending summer. But, I guess I should be grateful to run the AC instead of the heat. Are you TN too? We haven’t had rain either.
@Gypsigirl213 nope STL and it is 72 with a long slow rain today. It could only be better if the leaves had already changed!! Fingers crossed it does not get hot again!
@venussuz When I went to U of Rochester in upstate NY for many students sandals and sneakers with no socks did not go away even in 3’ of snow or a foot of slush.
I do not wear nor do I own sandals, man-dals, flip flop, thongs(I’m talking about the feet version right now pervs), Crocs or Birkenstocks! None of these do anything towards a life of fashion consciousness. Therefore I have no use for them. The closest thing I have are slip-on checkered Vans. Also, there is something just slightly off about trying to fit my size 15 or 16 feet in to the above mentioned footwear.
I have flat feet, so pretty much never wear sandals. I need to get a pair of really nice ones I have re-soled. If I do that, I’d be able to wear them again, at least.
Safety first - sandals in the shower at work, always. Can’t really wear them in the yard in summer, due to aggressive mosquitoes and the threat of deer ticks.
We’re in the wacky transition period - earlier this week it was 95 by the ocean (110 inland) and today it’s only 56 at 10 am. So sandals and insulated boots.
This weekend is only gonna be a high of 65 and rain so I might have to put some shoes on (gonna be really weird first time in like 5-6 months) but Monday and Tuesday will be almost 90 before we officially have fall weather here.
Ok so it is supposed to snow in the state of Washington. I’d like to put in an order for 1000 large, insulated boxes of snow to be delivered (overnight delivery) to my apt building (deep south, 97 today). Please pack them with dry ice while you are at it. I’d like to make snow angels and go sledding, maybe build a snow man if there is any snow left.
Uummm yeah, it is still 90 degrees!
@tinamarie1974 me too. Needs the answer: still wearing them and I WISH I could put them away.
@Kidsandliz
/giphy exactly
@tinamarie1974 wow… wish we could get a cool spell like that!
@chienfou how hot is it by you?

@chienfou well that sounds miserable
@tinamarie1974 yep. The only saving grace is the pool is still plenty warm enough… Oh, and A/C. Thanks God for A/C

@chienfou @tinamarie1974 Your yard won’t explode due to the sweat dripping off your eyelashes while you are out there.
@Kidsandliz @tinamarie1974 That must be that sizzling noise I keep hearing.
@chienfou @tinamarie1974
Oh, so now those laser beam eye implants don’t seem like such a great idea, do they Mr. “I’m gonna be a Super Hero!”

@Gypsigirl213 @tinamarie1974 …sigh… so jealous!
@chienfou @Gypsigirl213 I will try to send the weather your way!
@Gypsigirl213 @tinamarie1974 yes, by all means!
/image thanks
You mean my Crocs? Of course! I just wear them with socks when it gets cold.
/image it’s called fashion look it up
@awk discusting
It’s Michigan - sandals go away when there’s snow on the ground. So, next month?
@venussuz When I went to U of Rochester in upstate NY for many students sandals and sneakers with no socks did not go away even in 3’ of snow or a foot of slush.
I’d be barefoot every day if it weren’t for all the threats of denial of service.

@nogoodwithnames around here it’s more like no shoes, no shirt, no problem…
Sandals are what you wear to dress up…
I have a real job. The boss won’t let me be comfortable! Did I mention I work from home?
@hchavers …how long you been married?
I’m in oregon and I wear flip flops year round. I wear shoes for snow or yardwork.

@sicc574
Wow
/giphy that’s some huge feet
Winter where I live last about 2 months and even then doesn’t get colder than 40’s.
I have flat feet, so pretty much never wear sandals. I need to get a pair of really nice ones I have re-soled. If I do that, I’d be able to wear them again, at least.
@Labuda Flat feet here too. Have to wear shoes that accommodate my orthotic inserts.
Combat boots baby! It’s a crazy world out there and gotta be ready for the fight!
Boat shoes, no socks. Year 'round

Best. Sandals. Ever:
Ever since my heel fracture surgery in January, the Riviva flip flops are the only things that let me walk normal with the least amount of pain.
I would love to find shoes like this; those bubble cushions really work.

@Kidsandliz
@RiotDemon and this would be sledding. Right? (grin)
/giphy water slide
@RiotDemon Actually that snowman is pretty funny.
@Kidsandliz @RiotDemon I second that emotion.
Air conditioning is a modern miracle.
@PocketBrain OMFG
Shit might as well be August here it’s still in the 90s nary a frost warning in sight.
Dunno what y’all be whinin’ about.
Ready for Halloween with the mobile Treat-mobile.
@mike808 you get a new van? Lol
@mike808 @tinamarie1974
I didn’t know she was locked up…
@chienfou @mike808 @tinamarie1974 … probably by the guy driving that van…
